08. 7 Foundations - Lay Ministry & Full-Time Ministry

Welcome to track #8 of mighty foundations. OK, now one of the foundations of another foundation. We've talked about tithing, we've talked about sacrifice, we've talked about unselfishness. Isn't it? Now we are talking about lay ministry, the lay ministry and but I want to make it the lay ministry and the full time ministry. OK now so we are using this book The rules of church work. OK are you there? Good. Now chapter 1, what does it say? The first call and the second call. Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amity, saying, Arise, go to Nineveh that great city, and cry against it, for their wickedness is come up before me. And the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time saying, Arise, go to Nineveh that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee, Amen. So God called Jonah, he didn't go, and he called him again the second time and he went, Amen. So God is a God of a second chance, and God does not change his call. So why should I not give people a second chance when God gives people second chances? Why should I not give people a second chance? What do you think? Is it a good idea? God gives people second chance without even changing any aspect of the call. The same goal. Go to Nineveh, tell the people this, this, this, this, this, this that. It didn't go, it went long journey. Afterwards God came again, the same calling, no variation, go to the same place, no change. So that's the first entrance to the work of God is the call. When God calls you, how do you know God has called you? There are many ways that which God calls. You cannot expect to put God in a box, and in that box God will be always fitting into the way you think and the way you know. No, God has different ways of calling. Some people are called by a voice audibly, some are called by lightning, wind, Thunder. Some have angels coming to their rooms. Some Jesus appears to them. But some are just simple. They have a desire to do the work of God which doesn't go away. Amen. How many have a desire to do the work of God? Which doesn't go away? Does it go away? It actually gets a little more desperate as time goes by. Where's everybody? I see some people are not here. Are people gone? Are there? Are they? Is everybody aware? Where's Bishopsaki? Just come. OK. Where are the others? Are there people outside? What's Rudy Quiku? OK, the God of the second chance. What do you think? Why don't you all decide to give people a second chance from today, huh? Since God gives second chances, everybody deserves a second chance. Why not? That's why I'm giving you a second chance for the camp. Amen. Huh. Another chance to go to Germany. Another chance to have A to come for a camp. Are you there at short notice? Are you there? OK, so God calls people through visions, dreams, different things. There are many, many ways. Sometimes an impression, you feel convicted, you want to do it, you want to do it again, you want to do it, you want to do it, you want to do it, you feel you should do it. Do you understand? So, so many different ways God calls. Now that is the foundation of your ministry. The foundation of ministry is the call. You don't go into ministry because you want money or because you want a percentage of the offerings and there's no percentage of the offerings. So you're going to start a Church of your own so that people come themselves directly to you. What you're going to find out is that it's not just, it's not like that. That's why a lot of these things don't start, don't. They don't stand a chance because there's nothing under. So don't even go anywhere you get it because. I say So what I say. Must confirm the faith and the belief that you have in your heart. Are you listening to me? Yes. Amen. You must believe in your heart. You get it. You must believe in your heart, you get it that God wants you. So when I come along and I say hence that God wants you, it's just something that is already deep in your heart. You can sense it. You, you know, you even you are even afraid when I say, because you know that it's exactly what you feel God is telling you. Is that also yes? That even frightens you because the way it's like it's just exactly the Lord, the Lord you are, you are making things worse now. Yeah, you get it. That's that's what that's why I'm here. That's why I'm preaching. You see, I'm doing the things I'm doing because of what I believe God told me to do. Yes. Even coming to Switzerland. I once had a vision. That's because for a long time I wouldn't like to come here at. All. You know, but I had a vision with a lot of things. You have to start going back there. So all the things I'm going to try to do based on what? God? Not based on anger, based on frustration, based on money. In fact, one of the reasons why I even didn't like come here, because it's as if it's a place where there is money. So I said here has to be I don't like those money. I go to the opposite place. Yeah, I often tell pastors, how come when God is calling you only go to rich countries, God has called you only to Europe, America and so on. Why doesn't God call you to Togo? Why doesn't he call you to Benin? Why doesn't he call you to the north, to the South? Why? I just want to understand why as a prophet, how come God never seems to call you to where the masses are? What do you think? I I called the prophet one day. I asked him, why is it that you don't have such words Like you come and say the I see you in Madagascar, I see you in Kaduna. Yes, I see you in Kadun. How come you don't have such words, but rather I see a Motia? You know Motia, A dwarf? A dwarf. Standing by your leg here it is. What see me after church so that I take away that would tear from your leg A dwarf. Hey, why? Don't we see such things? So same thing. I also ask myself how can be a pastor? We only go to America, Europe, Germany. Yeah, yeah. What about the other places? Do you get it? Yeah. And so that's why I'm going to this place. Like I said, I'm going to Salaga, I'm going to be there for days, preaching out there in the 45°C. Yeah. And then after that we are going to Bonduku to pass different places inside the countries, to Mali, to the desert where there are people. Do you get it? The basis of the work is not Mali. The basis of the work is a call. So I want to beg you something. You know something. Promise me. Promise me, all of you. You will never do the work of God for money. Yes. Promise me that. Please. This thing you can promise. Can I see if you are promised? I want people to promise me. Please never do this work. No, no, no, no. Never. Never follow preaching. Look work at Negro for money please work at Co-op for money, work at who for money, Work at UBS for money. But work for God because you love God. That's all this I beg you even. If you leave the church, you see right now I'm saying all these things because I don't know whether maybe one day you also want. So I'm just give you advice, like the tidy thing I gave you. It's not just this church, it's it's foundational for your whole life, wherever you are tomorrow, 20 years from. Now don't work for God because of money. It's a foundation. Work for God because God calls you. Work for God because God calls you and have. And if money comes in, it's because it is necessary to come in, like me. It's necessary to come in because I'm full time in the ministry. It's necessary. Money is not necessary in the ministry things because it is. But don't don't. And all through your life you always have that. Should I do it? For money or not for money? Yeah. Because as I go around preaching people, people also give me money. I can only tune myself to go to where there is money. And there are. Places you get more money when you go there. Yeah. And there are messages when you preach, they give you more money. Messages, but, but try, I believe. Believe me, Don't do it for money. If you do it for money, you've got the wrong reason. It will be better that you do some other business on the side, the church without a money thing involved in it. A church is not a business. It is not. A business. Has never been a business and will never be a business. Until Jesus comes. It will never be a business. Yeah, as soon as you are doing something for money, you have become just like Judas Iscariot, effective pieces of silver. You will do anything. Yeah. And I thank God for many of the pastors who are full time because that was the foundation they had. Easy money cannot buy them. Yeah. Look, one day Yongicho went to have a program somewhere. When he went, a whole lot of other pastors came along with him. Now, when he was having the program, another pastor and so on came there. They were having this conference in somebody's church, a big church. Now one of the pastors who was around came to the assistant pastor of this big church where they were having this program and said to him, the assistant who? How much are they offering? How much do they give you here? I will double it. I'll give you more. And he made him a clear. Offer at the conference and the guy took it. He took the offer, yeah, and left the chair. Now he became a big problem because the host was not happy that I have hosted you this big nice program and one of the people that you came along with. He said it was actually a Nigerian pastor. He offered. This guy, that's the assistant. This. Offer of a job or hire. They were not happy with them at all. They didn't want them to come, I mean disappear because they come to support the president offering them, you see, and when? I heard. I realized that. Hey, some people, it's like a job. Ioffer. I give you more. You like this, You take it. Do you understand what I'm saying? So you need to get your your things right that this whole thing is based on a. Call. God called you, God told you, ah, that's it. Whether there's money, whether there's no money, This is what we do. This is what God says no, but if you want money, you know, get a job, do business, do something about don't use church when you use church. And if you ever think of coming to spoil a lighthouse church so that you can get some of the members, so that you can get tithe, you can get tithe or offerings. The thing that you hold will cause your hand to wither. You thought your hand will get fatter, but the thing that you you take and that you steal will make your hand wither. So you'll be there looking with the church things. Now chapter 2, where's the church work? It's either full time or late time. OK, are you there? OK, OK, OK, good, good. Now Second Corinthians chapter 13 verses. Have you seen that scripture? It says for we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth, Amen. What does this mean? You can do nothing against the truth. Nobody can spoil the truth. Nobody who lives lighthouse can spoil the truth. This one, this one, Paul said we cannot do anything against. Do you think God is as small and powerless as to let a man like you or me spoil his work? None of the none of this is as spoiling God's work. Amen. None. Of the things that are happening are spoiling God's word because Paul said we cannot do anything against the truth. The truth is the truth. No one can do anything that changes the truth that Jesus died on the cross, He died for our sins, blah, blah, blah. Whatever the truth is, it is the truth. We can't fight the truth. So anybody may think you are fighting me or fighting somebody, but you cannot do anything against the truth or for the truth, or anything against the truth but for the truth. So no. One should think that I'm coming to spoil this. I'm coming to spoil that. I'm spoiling this. I'm spoiling that. I'm changing it. You are changing nothing. All through this life I have seen in the ministry. No one can spoil my ministry. You can say bad things about me. You can say this, you can say that. It doesn't change anything. The truth is the truth. You can't do anything against the truth. Yeah. Are you there? Are you still around? OK, now Jesus said to them, I will come after me. Are you in pitch four? I will make you vicious of men. Amen. I will make you full time ministry, all right. And lay ministry are the very things, the process by which God makes you into a Fisher. You are not already a Fisher. It's going to take 10 years to make you a Fisher of men, 15 years to make you a Fisher of men. Look at I'm now doing crusades. How many years has it taken before I'm even studying on the plasma where I see such numbers of people to preach? I will make you. So what we don't realize is that like those of you that stand up Paris team, those of you that have said you are now going to be made, it's not as though you are. Don't worry, don't worry, don't worry about the future. You just stand up by faith. Just stand up by faith. Are you there? Are you listening? You listening? You sure you're listening? It's a process. Yeah, I will make you. I will make you to become. It's a process. You are being made to become. No, no, it's not the way we are appointed. Suddenly you are a Fisher of man. No, that one is even an appointment by a man, which could also be a mistake. I wrote a book, 7 mistakes that I made. One of them was to appoint people who are not called. Yeah, appointed people that were not called as pastors. Yes, part of my human mistakes. Yeah, that's one of the mistakes of my life. That's the people at that point. When I look at after the years go by, I look at this person. Maybe it's not called, but I also can't help that mistake also at that point because I have to give a lot of people a chance and out of them some will do well. But I can't claim to know her. Because some people look. Promising, but they don't turn out to be much. And some people don't look so promising, and then they turn out to be a lot. And so that we all assess. People, when the person is tall, the person is handsome, the person is meaty, the person is slim, the person is chubby, the person is whatever body we assess people, it also happens, it happens to somewhere, somewhere. The prophet, he saw the brothers of David and he chose them. So this is, this is the cold 1. David said. Look, I don't look. You don't look at things the way God looks at things. God see it not as man see it. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart. That's why I see everybody. I say, look, you can never tell how somebody is going to turn out. Are you listening? Yeah. So these guys are going to be made to become as the years go. But that's why I said I will be jumping like a rabbit when I see that you have become, because so many things will. Test you on their way difficulties, financial problems, this marital problems, sexual problem, or some of you may even fall into sin on their way. You may start your ministry within the first year. A strange woman will come, she'll say, and before you realize you are falling into sin. Everybody realize you are stumbled then we may need to reorganize you and help you protect you. See that you see that members will be coming to kill you Members. They are very wiki though. Pray that you never fall. If you fall, judge members. Wiki. Pray that you never fall pray. That's why when they fall or they just resign from the church and walk away, they are afraid of the members that these people, I preached to them, I blasted them and they get feel hot. It will be better that you die than you fall and fall into their hands. That's when people die. Sometimes you don't know so many reasons, because if you have died early, escape some things falling into the hands of church members. One day a second pastor, his wife died, a Bishop, actually his wife died. And then after about a year, he married another lady. No. And he was talking to me. He said look, you know. The church members, they are wicked. He said, he said to me, he said to me, see, before my wife died, she was sick. She had the cancer. So he said that, you know, that he was just talking to me. He said, you know, for about two years, almost 1 1/2 year to two years before she died, you know, we were not having sex. Because she was weak, you know, and then she died a year and a bit. I went by and said, but the members, the members are awake. He said to me when I married my new wife, all the families, so many people left, he said, But you see, my father was also a father. So these people, I've seen them, oh wait, for years. I. Thought how they behave when my father. Was there and also when I'm there. And he said, you see, the lady that he married was his, his. He married his secretary. Yeah. And he said that when his wife was alive, she was, she knew she was dying. She said that. He said that his wife's sister was in the room and then his wife told him before she died. His wife said to me, when I die, marry this lady. Yeah. I don't know if he asked her or she just said it, but she said this little work for both of them for a long time. He said marry her. Yeah, because I was with this Bishop and his wife, that his new wife and he said that he said, he said my sister. He said that when he announced that he went announced to go to marry the lady, all his wives, sisters and family all left the church except the lady that was in the room with them. So he said that, yeah. What you need? Talent. The people, yeah. Anyway, so it's the process. Why do you say your name is Titlist, Titlist, titlist. That's all. Sometimes you start and you fall. One day, one of my pastors, I went somewhere. He has. He has fallen. Hey. They checked him and wanted to eat him up. So yeah. So I said all the members to this side and my pastor to this side behind me. So I faced the member. I said if you are, if you like, come. If you like, come, yeah, tell him I had to protect the guy. From the members because. Tally the people wanted to finish him up. I said no way, you cannot, you cannot, you cannot. Then I started to give them so many scriptures. Which of you have never commenced to cut the first home? I'll never, I'll never leave my person for members to come and kill them. Never, never, never, never. I defended him fully and then went to sort out the problem. Suck all of them. And I came to. Sort out the. Problem in the house. Today, that person is doing very well. Very, very well. Oh. You, you'll be so happy when you start jumping like a what? A rabbit when you see him. Yeah, yeah. So sometimes you even start and say that you stumble. Stumble for. Different things. Then you see that you are good and that's what Jesus said I have come to. If you follow me, you shall be made to become fishers. You learn it fishing. Have you watched this film before? The Perfect Storm? Go and go and watch it. The Perfect Storm and you, you, you know what is a fisherman? That is one of the most stupid films I've ever watched in my life. Polish film. There's perfect storm because everybody died in the film. Have you seen a film that when the film is over, there is nobody left in the film? Oh, what? There's no great person. Everybody died in the film and you realize that fishing is not a small thing. Pray that you'll never be a fisherman. You get it. So God is going to make you gradually are going to become fisherman. Fisherman. And it's not easy to be a fisherman. One day I met a fisherman. He said to me, I am on the sea in the night in a canoe in Ghana. So we catch shrimps and what did he catch? Something else? And he takes it to Cote d'Ivoire and the West said they get more money in Cote d'Ivoire. He said we'll be in the night so. I said can ships kill you? Say, yeah, you see a big ship coming, They're coming to crush us in the night because they don't see us. So many dangers lightning can strike you on the on the last time I saw a picture 2 guys they were. Fishing. The whole body is black. Struck by lightning on the sea. Hey. Very, very dangerous today. He's almost a pastor. This fisherman. Yeah. I don't know if he's a pastor. Yeah. Fisherman. So when I talked now, I realized that fishing was very hard. So don't expect to suddenly become all of us are learning me I'm. Learning. I'm learning. I'm learning, I'm learning. All the messages I preach to you, they're all learning. Soon as I preach, I learn because I'm preaching this mighty foundation. I'm realizing that they are really foundations. I I came with the name of the message. But as I'm doing, I say, hey, Charlie, the foundation is wider than I thought. Yeah, I'm seeing the challenge, but a small thing. And when you take that thing away, we are left with nothing. That's what I'm. Saying because I believe the Holy Spirit gave me the name of the the thing. Yeah. So all of us and anybody who says he's finished there, he's pretending, He's pretending. OK, now we must now differentiate. OK, you guys can sit down. We must now differentiate between full time ministry and lay ministry. Do you get it? OK, OK, OK, now let us do some differentiation right here. Go down to a page four. OK, now what is full time ministry? Full time ministry is giving yourself all out to do the work of the Lord. Amen. Now what full time ministry is not Amen #1 full time ministry is not a convenient job option, Amen. So those of you who want to work for God all the way, you must understand these basics. It's not like something convenient, like maybe whilst you are having children, you'll be full time, you know, for that time because you know, so that you don't have to go to work a lot, just be breastfeeding and doing things. So it's a convenient job for this era of my life. I'll be your full time ministry. No, that's not full time ministry #2 full time ministry is not an. Easier job like some people feel. I'm tired in the world. I'm tired. I'm tired of working at the bank. I'm tired of working at Negro. I'm tired of I want an easier job. I want to work an easier job. I'll tell you something. You know, one of my pastors, he used to work at Ashanti Gold Fields as one of their directors or managers, and he came full time. You know, he said something. He said I have never worked like this ever in my life. Huh. You said that recently. Yeah. Yeah, he said. I've. Never. Worked like that. He was a top guy. He's Anglo gold. Yeah, they have never worked, he said. When I when I work at Ashanti 5:00, I just. Leave everything. It's finished. I go. But this one, there's nothing like I leave it. When have I, when do you leave everything? Until I get out of that airport through the check in, through the immigration and I'm out. I'm not. It's not done. I'll be talking, having meetings with different issues, people. From the moment I entered the car, I started talking to Pasajini about Congo. From Geneva airport up to Lausanne for 30 minutes. Yeah. Idiot. #3 full time ministry is not a retirement plan like something that you will do when you retire from WHO? Then I'll come into what full time ministry idiot? You want to retire? You want to retire so then let's all retire. Let ambitious side let's go. You go back to your law firm and go back to my medical work whatever when we retire, we work for God. That's be about what about retirement was. 6262 So we are not going to work for God from now till about. Is it 17 years or how many years? 20 yeah, 70, almost 20 years. So pause, OK. Hey, so can you see what it is like when you have decided in your heart you've put it inside your heart when I retire? Then I'll come, idiot. See you in 17 years time. For me, and to do things in the prime of their life, not in their retirement. Yeah, Wow. Hey, what's that? These foundations are Wardo. What will be left of the work of God? What will be left of the work of God if we put off His work till retirement? So that's why I wouldn't say that even when you are a lay pastor, you must have a certain healthy understanding of what full time ministry and respect for it. Especially when you know yourself that it's not something that you have been able to do or that you are even considering or that even if it's offered to, you may not do it or that you may know you won't do it. It's. True. You must have a certain respect. That's what we want and that's what some, some of us come here. It's almost like we are idiots to come. You see, because you, you are busy. You are doing something very important. We are idiots who don't have anything to do. So we've come here, idiot, just flying around the world. How? How can we have a church in Congo? How can we have a church in Congo? There's no United Nations there that can employ and pay 10,000 francs a month to Pastor Jimmy and his wife. Of 15,000. I don't know how much they earn between the two of them. There's nothing like that in in in Congo. So it's going to have to be somebody who is not going to wait for a retirement, but it's going to start in 17 years or how many years time by that time to maybe older. Look, let's go out again. God is calling you say retirement, God is calling you idiot #4 Full time ministry is not an arrangement for redeployed workers. Redeployment like during the credit crunch and they say, oh, Credit Suisse 5000 gone, Goldman Sachs 2000 gone, this, this 5000, UBS this. Then when you are redeployed, then you say, aha, I'm coming to work Gola idiot. #5 or 6 full time ministry is not a refuge for murders of little children. It's like when you have little children and you always have to go home, up and down, take them to hospital, hospitals, school days, days. That that's the best. Of course. As for the church, you can do anything you want there. You understand, idiot? No, full time ministry is not a last minute death wish for people who have spent their better years doing other things. It's not when you are about to die. Do. You understand and the doctor has said you are dying or whatever, and you can see just as you're about to die and you say now I want to work for God. No. You're just about to die. You yourself know that you're going to die. But you come to the church officer I want to work for. I want to be a missionary idiot. As an old person like that. How can I send you as a missionary? How can I send you as a missionary 78 years old? I just send you as a missionary. The next one. Full time ministry is not a camouflage business plan. Some people want to use full time ministry to ensure a regular salary whilst they do the business on the side. Business is business and ministry is ministry. You can say, OK, I want to be employed by the church whilst I sell computers in Germany. So that's what I have a steady salary from the church, then I'll be selling the computers. Don't use the church as a cover up for your business. Business is business, ministry is ministry. Yeah, so you can't just use it. So whilst I'll be doing this, the church should be paying me my monthly so that that one is guaranteed. And I'll be selling computers, software days, that whatever. No, you cannot do that. Amen. Now full time ministry is not an activity for people in between jobs, in between jobs. What it means in between jobs is what like let's say you, you are, you are moving from Credit Suisse to UBS. So in the interim, whilst you are waiting for this, you, you, you, you, you just use that time to work for God. Or maybe you're on a contract break, isn't it? And whilst you are on that contract break, you want to work for God in full time and be. Paid. Be careful now. Yeah, Full time ministry is not a springboard for men with secular ambitions. It's not a springboard. It's not like I'm going to use it. Maybe my main aim is to be a dealer in Swiss chocolates. So I want to use Lighthouse as a place to come into Switzerland and start being be there, be paid by the churches. But my main aim is to start selling Swiss chocolates, negotiating for chocolate business and so on. But I'm just using the church. As a springboard. All these things, I'm saying we have seen some before. There is no job example here without a person's name. Yeah, full time ministry is not a poverty alleviation scheme. Because you are working as a cleaner in Zurich or as a carrier of boxes or whatever in Zurich and you have been here. Things are not going well for you. Now you want to use the church as a poverty alleviation scheme for your life. So you say you are starting a church or you are going to use the church to collect salary or percentage. Idiot. Yeah, this is a real idiot. The church cannot overcome your failure to go to school. If you didn't go to school or you didn't do whatever, you didn't get any good. It's not the. Church which is going to overcome all those background problems that you have. You can expect the church to overcome all those things that have affected your life or whatever you did or whatever you didn't do or your foundation. It's not the church which is coming to correct all those things. Your anger should be directed at yourself and not at the church. The church hasn't done anything to you. Don't use the church as a reason for trying to get things that you haven't got even with your personal secular life. You are not. Able to do those things how? Can it be the church it is coming to alleviate your poverty and alleviate your circumstances from the church? What do you mean? Since when is the church used to alleviate foolishness and poverty? If you have guided your life a certain way, your father said do this, you didn't mind it. Your mother said do this. You said no. The father said do this exam you didn't do. The father said go to school, you didn't do. Why you haven't done it. Now your pastor preach you didn't do. Now you are at a certain stage and these are not OK for you. But you look at the church and you see the congregation that is there. So if everybody gives 100 francs, they are 20, I will get 2000 idiot. Look at the mind that is you're having calculating people and 100 francs. Are you there? Yeah. What do you say? Are you there? Yeah. So every pastor you look at, including me, look at me. Ask me, am I trying to alleviate my poverty? Ask you, am I trying to? Alleviate my poverty? You just look at me carefully and find out. Do you think I'm trying to alleviate poverty by coming to stand here? Do you think all these years Pastor Jimmy has been trying to alleviate his poverty by working there? All Pastor Emarus, all Pastor Ebo or Pastor Duke. Do you think they're trying to alleviate their poverty? No, oh, Pastor Nicopo. Pastor Nicopo. Is very, very hard. You'll be spiritual. You may rather be spiritual, have the car, have the house, be rich. This is possible, but it's not. If you think you are thinking that this is what will happen automatically, you are deceived and the devil has already got you the next one. Because I'm in full time ministry. You can only know whether God is happy with you in your heart, and when you get to heaven you will know for sure whether God was really happy with.
