21. Develop Spiritual Habits

Welcome to track #21 of lay power. First one is to understand the power power of Lycos. Amen #2 is what to know that many are called. That's a Section 2, isn't it? We went through all the different things on that. And then #3 was what the, the shepherdorial work, Isn't it the job description of a shepherd? Is that not so? And then the next one is overcoming shallowness, isn't it? Through the quiet time. OK, Now the next big section is develop good habits, spiritual habits. Amen. Spiritual habits are also very important, right? Because what you do daily determines what you become. What you do daily is what determines what or how or who you become. Amen. What you do. It's not what you do once a year that makes you into anything, but it is what you do daily. Amen. Are you listening to me? What do you do daily? Yeah. It's what makes you into what you are supposed to be. Now there are some important spiritual habits that you need to develop. Amen. Are you there Dostoyevsky? A man called Dostoyevsky? He said the second-half of a man's life is made-up of the habits he acquired in the first half. Amen. This Pascal said the strength of a man's virtues is made-up of his habitual acts. All right. And Mike Madoff said something like what you do daily is what makes you become whatever you're going to become. Mike Madoff said that something like that. I'm not quoting, but So what do you do daily? What do you do daily? And so there are some key. I just want to give three of these powerful habits, Amen. Some habits you may do weekly, monthly, but there are some very key and important ones, Amen. All right, Now, the next point I want you to know is that every great man has habits that made him great. So if you see someone who is great, try to find some of his habits. Amen. Are you there? Don't try to know What Car he has. Try to find what habits he has. Oral Roberts, he wrote a book after, I think he was already 80 years old when he wrote that book, about 12 things that he would advise every pastor and minister and they obviously are 12 important things that he felt that if there were 12 things that he would say to anybody, just he just wrote the points 12345678910111212. I think there were ten or seven, but I think it's 12. It's a long time to start ready and one of those things was to have sex regularly, either 80 year old or our Roberts. Now, what is a commotion about Oral Roberts? One of what one of the points he said was what sex regularly. It's one of his habits. Of course, if you are married, if you are, if you are not married, you shouldn't have sex. But but you see, please, please, please. Many people do not know the spiritual significance of sex. Sex is a spiritual act. If you want to value sex in terms of physical activity, you will put it as a worthless act that lasts for a very short time. Because when you look at leopards, lions and so on, it just takes a short few seconds. But it's actually a spiritual activity because the Bible says when you commit adultery with someone of fornication, you sin against your soul. So fornication or sexual relations is something that is spiritual also. It actually effects you spiritually and it's the only sin in the Bible where the Bible actually talks about Babylon the Great has fallen and become the hold of the cage of evil spirits because of her fornications. It's the only thing that means that this led to evil spirit being there. I don't know any other thing which is the one who did this brought evil spirits. It's clear in the Bible. Revelation 18. So sex is also spiritual. So, spiritual people. Have. Sex often. So if you are married, you may think that it's just something. No, I mean, Bishop is a man. That's why he's always talking about that. And you are a fool. That's why you, that's why you speak in that way. That's why you are saying what you are saying. You are a fool. Go to a church where the Bishop is a lady so that you speak the things that's happening, you think appropriate. So anyway, habits. What you do daily determines how and what you are going to become. Every great man, he has a car, he has a house, he has principles, but he has some habits and those would be interesting to find out. Those are the habits that have made him what He is. Amen. So very important. Now Jesus Christ had habits. Bible says in Luke chapter 4, He came to Nazareth and as his custom was His custom, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day to read, Amen. So Jesus went to church regularly. It was his habit, it was his custom, Amen. And #2 He also went pray on prayer retreats often, Amen. Daniel also went praying. Bible says he prayed three times a day and when he was challenged for not praying to not pray, Abu says he knelt down and he prayed three times again as he did a four time. So it shows that this is what he's been doing. Jesus Christ resorted to prayer. Bible says and Judas, which also betrayed him knew the place for Jesus oftentimes resulted thither with his disciples. Amen. So these are examples of people in the Bible who had some habits. Jesus had some habits going to particular place to pray. He also had a habit of going to church. Going to the synagogue was part of his spiritual habits. Now all of us must develop certain important habits. Amen. And just to mention three that I believe are key. One is the quiet time probably will be the most important habit you will ever develop is the habit of having a quiet time Amen. Then the second important habit will be the habit of reading. Reading, Amen, which is something that you you can learn to do daily. If you if you don't read, you are among a lower class. If you want really an inferiority complex, then don't read. Then you can join the lower group of society. Then you know that you are really inferior because when you don't read, you are the same as somebody who cannot read. Do you get it? So reading is a very important habit. The third important habit is the listening to tapes, Amen, Amen, listening to tapes or CDs, Amen messages. It must be a habit, a habit, something that you are into Amen all the time and it is going to be a blessing to you. So these three are three powerful habits that I believe are going to change your life. Now let me tell you 10 things every Christian should know about habits. All right #1 all that I'm sharing, I'm sharing from my book, The Quiet Time. It is all in there. A habit is an act that is repeated easily without thinking or planning. You don't plan, you don't think, but you do it. Amen. All the people I saw brushing their teeth today, we're not thinking or planning anything. They just got up. And then no, I need to brush my teeth. That is what a habit is. So you need to develop a spiritual habit of something that you do without thinking. You just normally just do that. You always take your Bible. You always have your quiet time. You always have a book that you are reading and you always have ACD that you are listening to. It's part of your spiritual wake up. You don't have to plan. So I have to plan, you know. No, there's always a book you are reading. Today I I, I saw some people, one of them asked a friend, what book are you reading now? And I was interested in that question, What book are you reading? It means that their friendship includes what are you reading? What am I reading? Yeah, somebody has tossing someone. So when I meet you. So what are you reading now? How many Christians ask such questions to one another? What book are you reading now? It is a very important question that you should be asked. What are you reading now? I'm reading this now. What are you reading now? You can ask me that question and I will have an answer. What am I reading now? Amen. Are you listening to me? So you do it without planning #2A habit is an act that becomes your custom whether you are conscious of it or not #3A habit is often an insignificant act that seems to have no power to affect the future. I say it's often an insignificant act that seems to have no power to affect the what, the future holding a book, a tape and a Bible, having books to read all the time, huh. Looks like an insignificant act that has no power to change your future, the whole future. But I my future has been changed by reading a book. Well, my real job, I'm sorry to inform you, is actually being a doctor. I have no training in what I'm doing. What I am trained in is not what I'm doing, but through a book, a tape and a Bible. Today I'm preaching to you and you are receiving it. Receiving it, is it not amazing, Buko? The real one that I went to school for seven years. That's not what I'm doing today. You see, a book changed me, a tape, a Bible, quiet time and look at where I am. Book, tape. That's why. That's why my greatest gift I could give to you is to give you these books. Now, who is talking at the back there? Now I want one strong brother, maybe two of the big pastors here. The police come and hold this. See if you can hold this pile together, together, together. Now this one is not a problem, isn't it? So that the people can see this here. Now lift it up so that the people can see everyone of you. One person can carry. Will it not fall down? That's it. These books, my dear, every single one of you must make it your aim. You must have a library. You see, you read when you have a library. Now your pastor has written books, books that people are paying me a lot of money to come and read to them, books that have been translated into languages. Oh, you see, I know a lot of pastors write, but I want to say that I believe that God has anointed me to write, not because I think so that he's even told me, but from the response to the books. That's what I feel, that it's a corner. I wouldn't have to because the Bible says for you see your calling. Because when I was right, God didn't appear to me. I've told you this thing over and over. No Angel has come. There's nothing like that. So I'm just like any other pastor who decides to write a book. I don't know whether I should or not, but as I've been doing it, I can see a certain response worldwide. You get it. Even when I translated this book into Korean, Yong Gicho, secretary said when she told Doctor Yong Gichong, Gicho said, oh, there are so many Americans. Everybody has translated this book. When the guy translated his book, Yong Gicho said, ah, this is a very important book. It must be sent to all his pastors In Korean. This book is in Korean. It's in Chinese, It's in Russian. It's in Spanish. It's in German. It's in French. And where? And Portuguese, these books in America and in Hindi. In Indian language, Hindi. Yeah. So you as you are sitting here, Bishop, I don't know how you can emphasize it better than I can, but every single person here must have the library like that there when people can. OK, now. No, no, no. This. I don't lend this one because it can go out of print. You won't get one again. You know, people come and they see this. So can I borrow this? And then there's one that you don't borrow. You don't lend. That's my library. You get it. So just as you have a vision to have certain possessions, do you see, you must have enough the way books are. A book can be there. It will not be there again. Now, personally, I buy books, second hand books. I can show you several books that I have there, all second hand because they do not exist anymore. They are out of print. I recently didn't have to buy some music. I bought it in the form of an LP. Yeah, about a week ago or two weeks ago, I bought an LP because that's why I exists, and that's not even existing. I tried and tried for years and I was just able to locate that music and I bought to buy the LP. Now my problem is I have to get an LP player, a turntable. Yeah, yeah, don't worry, I have an engineering solution. So now everybody must aim to have your library if you are a pastor of this church, it's a command and you are not making me any richer or not. You are not even. It does not affect my life in the slightest drop slightest, even the slightest drop if you get this or not and it is not going to be given to you free. Amen. How many will agree to me that anybody who calls themselves a pastor in Lighthouse and then a shepherd is supposed to have this set of books to refer to? Amen. A book that's not that you buy does not mean that you are going to read the whole book this afternoon. It's something that has to be there. The final question, I owned it in my house for years. It was when the revelation came. I went and I saw that I had two copies of that book in my in my library. What do you think? Is it not fantastic? So brothers go around the people and reveal to them the books that they must acquire brothers tickets to them. Nobody should take any or one person will carries. OK, then escort him. You might get your set when you don't have your set. You cannot call yourself a serious Lycos. Are you a serious Lycos when you don't have this? And some new books are just about to be released, so if you don't get this one, you will be far behind. Model marriage is dead. Those of you are married. Small, small girls have got model marriage. OK, does this is these are the books that you are supposed to get if you call yourself a shepherd or a serious Lycos of the church either. What is that song Lycos? How does it go? You are too slow. No matter what I'm say made-up my mind I'm gonna work for God. Lie. Don't get up, don't get up. Every day, average man I am a common man. Lie. Because no matter what I'm say made-up my mind I'm gonna work for God. Lie goes. Every day man. Average man I am a common man. Lie goes no matter what, I'm safe, made-up my mind I'm going to work for God. Thy ghosts everyday mind, average mind. I am a common man. Now it is not an option. You can tell them discharge you have to buy the books by false. Yes, tell them, tell them, tell them, tell them. There are no apologies. You have to, otherwise you cannot be a layman seriously working. Even when you go, your husband will see that you are serious. He himself, when the books are, they say, hey, Charlie, you are serious. Oh, every day you are reading. You go to Winners Chapel, you see the people studying Bishop, they post books studying, go to Methodist Church, you see them doing exams. You know what I'm saying is that you, we have to get out of shallowness. And there's a certain type of person who does not read and that person is super shallow, super shallow. Now, as Pastor Oko and Pastor Fabian have gone round, touch them so that you know this is my I'm going to get it. You're spending your spending your time buying her, buying her. They're supposed to touch their books, not you. They wanted to. They want to touch you. See, God is trying to upgrade your life, many of you. You don't have a library. How many don't have a library in your house? Even a room you don't have before? A library, A toilet you don't have. Now you say library. Amen. So it is compulsory. You have to own them. That's the first step. You must have it and you must not lend it. The lending ones are different, the small, small ones, there are some of them which are not in, some of them are accepts, but there are some that are original and there are some that are brand new boots that I've never seen before. But I don't announce it because it's only for those who are searching and will find things. Amen. You get it. Thank you gentlemen. A habit can be either good or bad, natural or spiritual. Amen #5 good habits are repeated as easily as bad habits Amen good habits are as easy to repeat as bad habits. Number six. Bad habits lead to consistent failure and defeat without the person realizing what is happening. And good habits lead to consistent success and victory without the person even realizing what he's doing. Do you see? Did you get it? Bad habits lead to consistent failure. But I see if you have this library, you will not be bothered. I'm reading the book to you. I'm reading it out to you. Bad habits lead to consistent failure, Good habits lead to consistent success #8 Bad habits are easy to form but difficult to live with. Good habits are difficult to form but easy to live with. It's difficult to form the habits, but when it is formed, we are very happy that it is your habits, Amen. And good habits are difficult to form, but when you form them, it is nice that it is your habit, Amen. But bad habits are easy to form. But after some time, it's difficult to live with that habit. Amen #9 Every successful Christian has a number of good habits that have brought him to success. Amen and #10 Habits are a safety procedure for Christians. Amen. It's a safety net. When you get into a a car, you don't know that that day is the day that you're going to have an accident, but you put on the seat belt as a habit. It's a good habit. So the day that you have the accident is the day you, your habit saved you. And I remember when I first started to put on seatbelts, it was difficult because it's like, why do you think you are going to die or what? It was difficult to form, but after it's been formed, I realized that it's a good habit. One day I saw a certain sister. It was Sunday evening. She said to me, I was in my house when brother so and so came, Hello, who is The Who is the one talking? You can come for the mic. And I saw the sister, she said Sunday evening, just from here to here airport. I think when they went to airport, a car came and hit them. She said she was not in the driver seat, she was in the assistant driver seat and her head went forward like this. All all her teeth came out that Sunday evening because their mouth went to head there dashboard, all these teeth, the front ones, all all Fallah nothing left. And and I asked whether she was wearing a seat. I said wow. I realized that was one of the days that really struck me that this seat belt thing, I saw a certain man, he used to sell pajeros. He told me about an accident he had. He said even from here to here I wear a seat belt from just here to this room here. Since that accident and I've been told that 40% of accidents occur in the 1st 10 minutes press. Is it correct? 40 accidents or fatalities or what accidents in the 1st 10 minutes of the drive? Yeah, 40% in the 1st 10 minutes. Because. Because of what? You don't know, I don't know, but you know, so you may, you may not be ready with seatbelts, but the first 10 minutes, you'd be surprised. You may be texting or adjusting the Archbishop Idahosa. He had a habit of going for early morning prayer meetings. Idahosa early morning on the day when he woke up that he was going to die. He himself didn't know, but he did. His normal habit of early morning prayer meeting. How many would have liked to have a prayer meeting on the day that you died? I've attended a prayer meeting on the day that you died. Now, because it was his habit, he went for his normal morning prayer meeting and around the afternoon he died that he was just drinking some juice. He said can I have some juice? And I said drug. He said, oh, this is heavenly. And then he was gone. His habit of early morning prayer meeting, I think was a good habit to have for the day that he died. How many would like to go to to die on the day that you go to a disco? You like to die on the day that you commit something and then to die on the day that you go for your prayer meeting. Is it not a powerful day to die? Amen. What do you think? Is that a good idea? Yeah. So Briders. Briders and sisters. It's getting hotter, isn't it? What shall we do? Can't take off your shirts. Shava lava. Now the next. So these are three habits. One of the three habits. Number one is 1. Quiet time. And then what else reading. How many are going to get the library in your house? How many are not going to get it? How many powerful keys do you have for the release of lay? Power #1 is what understanding? That's the table of contents, isn't it, of your book. The power of what Lycos Power of lycos #2 is what understanding that many are called to work for God, is that also #3 the I'm talking about the table of contents, isn't it? Many are called number. Many are called to the work of God, isn't it #3 is what is the table of conduct that the main table of contents? Section 1, Section 2, Section 3, Section 4. I've done about four sections. Is that also the work of a shepherd? Isn't it? The job description of a shepherd, isn't it? And then what? Again, overcoming shallowness through quiet time, isn't it? Another major section that I gave? So that's Section 1. Section 5 is what? Developing spiritual habits. So if the Lycos, the ordinary man, has got very good habits, huh? How many agree that is really going to help him? Every successful Christian has some good habits that he is doing all the time, isn't it? Is it not? Or it is not Now the next important section, Section 6 is tithing. Tithing tithe in the Greek comes from the word Masser, Mahashar, Mahasayir, Mahasayir or Mahasari. It means 1/10 Amen. Leviticus chapter 27 verse 30, it says, And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord's, because it is holy. Answer the Lord, and I want you to know Leviticus 27, verse 30. If a man will at all redeem of his tithes, Amen, he shall add that to the fifth part Amen. Have you found Leviticus 27, verse 30? Now tithing, how many of you pay tithes? How many don't pay tithes? How many don't always pay tithes. Oh, please, raise your hand properly. You see, I don't want us to pretend during the camp you don't always pay tithe. Raise your hand. I need to see more hands because it's more than that. Please, Bishop Saki, look at the people. They are not telling the truth. So if you can kindly go to them and convince them to tell the truth, how many of you don't always be? Sometimes you don't pay your time. Pastor Fabian, please go to the church. Go to the church and find out. Pastor Johnny, please, these people are saying something. You don't always pay tithes. Just give us a wave. We, we want to be happy with you. God is watching those of you who say you always pay times. Yeah, not always. That's all we want. Not we just like you don't pay times, but not always. That's all. Then raise your hand. Yeah. How about the frontier? Raise your hand. You don't always pay tights. Please. I need hands. OK, OK, OK. No. How about those who pay parts of your tights? I mean, you pay ties and parts of your tights. Not always, but you pay parts of your tights. I mean it's not a full 10%, but sometimes you reduce it a bit, 9.4 percent, 8.7%. Can I have another chair here maybe? Thank you. Now I want the Lycos to help us. To develop a system where we will know always everybody who doesn't pay tithes, computerized specialists, because we are going to increase the tithe paying to 100 percent, 100%. What do you think? Is it a good ideology? Now I want to show you what I call the sign of tithing. 7 signs of tithing. It's a sign of something. Now Nehemiah chapter 13, verse 10, it says, and I perceived that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them, for the Levites and the singers that did the work were fled everyone to his field. Then contended I with the rulers, and said, Why is the House of God forsaken? And I gathered them together and set them in their place, then brought all Judah, the tithe of the corn, and the new wine and the oil unto the treasuries, Amen. The Levites were fled. They run away from the work, Amen. Now, it is very, very important that every single layperson in particular pay tithes. There is a reason for that, and that is what I am sharing with you. Lycos and tithing. Amen. I don't want to give it any other mysterious name like 1st and Best or anything. I'm talking about 10% to the Lord. Sheep need direct, clear instructions and I want us to give direct clear instructions. 7 things that are signs that tithing indicates #1 paying your tithe is the first your first taste of ministry. Paying of your tithe is your first taste of ministry #2 Paying your tithe is your first step into ministry #3 Paying your tithes is the first sign that you appreciate ministry. Amen #4 Paying your tithes is the first indication that you support ministry #5 pay your tithes is the first indication of your interests in ministry. Number six, paying your tithes is the first sign of you understanding ministry, and #7 paying your tithe shows your first involvement in ministry. Man, this is the fastest 1 you can get, isn't it? Wow, is it powerful. Your first taste is tithing in ministry. Yeah, because you're you didn't get it. Should I go over again? OK #1 Paying your tithe is your first taste of ministry. 2 Paying your tithe is your first step into ministry #3 paying your tithe is the first sign that you appreciate ministry #4 Pay your tithe is the first indication that you support ministry #5 pay your tithe is the first indication of your interests in ministry. Number six, pay your tithe is the first sign of your understanding ministry, that you understand how ministry works #7 paying your tithes shows your first involvement in ministry. And we can talk for a long time of these, each of these points and we are going to talk for a long time. Amen. Because a Lycos who does not pay tithes has not shown a certain appreciation of what ministry is all about. You've not shown it. I mean you cannot say that you are a layperson and you are involved in the work of God when I mean before you came to start doing anything, you stole the church's money. I mean you stole from God as your first step into the ministry. I mean that your first step is a wrong step and it is not going to work. Amen. What do you think time is? The Bible says in Leviticus chapter 27 verse #30 that the tithe belongs to the Lord. It belongs to the Lord. So tithing. When you see Christians tithing often, it signifies the beginning of their ministry, the beginning of their involvement. The first tastes, the first step, the first interests. I mean, somebody who doesn't pay that is not interested in the church, truly. I mean, don't come and stand and say you are working for God. Don't say it, Don't say it. Say something else. I don't say that you are interested in the church where when you don't pay your tithes, you are an usher and say what? You don't pay your tithes. We cannot trust you, see. We cannot trust you with our basket and Asha who doesn't pay. And now the new system we are going to have a special lay Lycos system for monitoring of ties anybody including those that are unemployed. Every Tom, Dick and Harry who walks through the gate of the church, I tell you we are looking for your tie. Bring something as your type. Students unemployed, where everybody eats and poo poos even though they are not employed and some are going regularly. Where do they get that food from to be going? Poo pooing is a very important sign. If you go to the jungle, in the forest, there are a lot of animals that follow elephants because their poo poo is very, very tasty. Yeah, you will see antelopes walking behind an elephant, waiting for it to put when it poo poo big because one elephant takes in about two or three tons of vegetation in a day. It clears up branches and trees and processes it. So it's a real processing factory and it comes out as a form of means, mixed meat or cerelac, juicy vegetable salad. And it comes out pop like that. Pop, pop, pop finished product. I mean, we talk about factories, I mean, for food produce. And you watch them. Several animals will be eating it, the antelopes, the beds, I mean, different and the whole life wet roofs around the elephants which are eating. I mean, it's something that I've seen. Yeah. So before you cut. And the reason why those elephants are able to poo poo so much is because of the amount of leaves and trees and the one ton, 2 tons a day that they are able to consume. It produces that. So you you go and you poopoo three times a day and you say you can't pay tithes. Bishop Saki come and hold the mic and explain it well to them. I'm coming. You are .3 twice. Many of you brothers twice a day. Their sisters, most of them, a lot of them don't poo poo too much once a week or some goes more small once a week. Most of the sisters here are constipated and but I shouldn't say when you are the preacher. Then you come and say all the correct things. OK, I am saying something that somebody who has used the toilet twice a day, three times, sometimes 4, and you say you can't be tight. No, no, no, no. You cannot accept it again. As Bishop was saying, if you go to the toilet three times or four times a day, three time now when we come to church you will put a camera at the at the toilet door. Some people you know. No, no, if you come to church early, you discover we got the pastors meet early and pray. You see that when people arrive, they go to the toilet before they even come to the church. They go and Polish from last night. They go and poo poo from last night and then by the time the service is over to they go for another look. There's if you go to the toilet between 2nd and 1st, there's no toilet through there. They finished it. There's no soap. Someone has put it in his pocket, everything is gone. It's amazing. So hello. What? What is, what are we saying? What's Bishop saying? He's saying that everybody, the evidence that you are eating is that you go to the toilet and therefore you must pay tithes. I think it's as simple as that. Or you don't understand the message. It's very, very, very, you know, you'd be surprised that we say in the church there's 100% tight paying church by in reality, less than 40% pay tights in reality. And it's also possible that even here at less than half, maybe less than 50% pay tights or regularly. And you know, a lot of times you discover that most people their tight is what came to their hands that week because it's the last Sunday of the month. So I got some of them put this is not a rare calculation of their 10%. I'm a lying Yeah, you have forgotten about God. But remember that this is a time a week must pay tithe. Then you put in anything you're like in who brought anything. So I think that the point is very important. This some point that Bishop has given us so important. We need to be able to be honest and see that we have to that everybody can every student. And I mean we are trying to develop a system where everybody students because students have more money than than workers now and everybody has you have credits on your phone. How come we can't pay tight? How many of you here don't have a mobile phone? You don't own one. Can I see your hand? You don't own a mobile phone. Oh, stand up. Let me see if you don't own 1:00. Not that you're installing. But you don't own one. Let me see. Don't have a mobile phone? You used to have one. What has happened? A spot or installing. OK, who else? Who else doesn't have it? Stand up. Let me see you. Why? Why don't you have a mobile phone? You don't like it? Oh, why do you sit down? Stand up. How you are. OK, Three people don't have mobile phones. OK, You have the unit at home. You don't know the technology. OK, sit down. Thank you. Now, why, young, young lady, why do you like to sit down so quickly like this? Right. So listen, anytime you say I'm so happy with this very, very, very practical points that Bishop is giving us here. Amen. It's a sign that you are not interested in ministry if you don't pay tithe. Can't say the oh, look, and people, some people think that they can do other things in the place of paying tithes. I'll come to church to scrap the floor and so on. So that is my tithes. Yeah.
