Welcome to track #34 of break forth and become who you can become. Hello, right. So we have talked about breaking out of ape culture. We've talked about breaking out of deaf, mute culture, deaf and dumb breaking forth, isn't it? Now I want to talk out of breaking out of poor poverty culture. Then after that we talk about breaking into riches, the culture of riches, number one causes of poverty. And you see, what I'm sharing with you is not from the Bible. It's knowledge and insight and understanding. What do you think? These are? Causes of poverty, as research by the FAO has shown. FAO, United Nations Organization, Food and Agriculture organization #1 lack of knowledge and lack of good skills in heading heading a you know, a friend is saying goats and sheep are widely given as a main cause of poverty. So the Food and Agriculture Organization looking at the whole world picture. Do you understand trying to find out why there's poverty in Ghana in Nigeria in this, in that, in that, in that have come up with the facts. So I'm not telling you what I think and one of it is knowledge and skills in heading Amen. Are you there now? This should reveal to each and everyone of us here that lack of knowledge as a pastor and the lack of skills as a pastor will equally lead to poverty. Because just as the shepherd has sheep that lead to his riches, the spiritual shepherd has spiritual sheep whose multiplication lead to his wealth. Do you understand? Yeah. So the wealth of my life is related to the flocks that I have all over the world. I'm like a Fulani herdsman with flocks all over, scattered all over. Yeah, that's a reality. And some of you may be a shepherd or a herdsman with 27 goats or 27 sheep, whereas I may have 100 here, 27 here, 30 here, 40 here all over. So knowledge has been shown, do you understand to be the main thing and lack of? Skills. Now when we were going through the mega church, are you listening to me? Are you listening to me? The mega church has a lot to do with the skills of a shepherd and a castle. Lay people. I was going to go through lay people with you but as you can see the time is almost up. I never really started many of the things I wanted to share with you, but the reality is that the skill and you can hear what I was going to share with you in another camp somewhere, but not not here. You get it. But the point that I'm saying and I'm trying to share with you is that FAO has revealed that is A cause of poverty. This was often mentioned in conjunction with laziness. The lack of knowledge and skills has been a cause of poverty. The room is quite hot. Is there any particular reason? What's going on? Normally that is not the case. Has somebody done something to their conditioners? Because the room is very hot and it's getting hotter. I don't know what's the position. Are those who are sitting under aid? Have you turned them off? Have you lowered them? Have you changed them to heat? Are you listening to me? Laziness, it's a cause of how many want to break out of poverty. Now if you are here, you don't have a car. Raise up your hand. OK, so you are poor. You don't have a car, you are poor. OK, Where's Solomon? In our Google stand up. You have a car, OK, So you are poor. So listen carefully to this thing, OK? Because I was asking you where you are going to play golf, you said Kumar say. And from your your house to Kumar say, two hours, you take how many buses to Konongo? Yeah. And from the station in Kumasi to the golf course, you have to take another bus. So you will be carrying your golf bag in the bus from Agogo to Konongo, from Konongo to Kumasi and then from Kumasi station to the golf course. Yeah, you drop out a roundabout and you walk to the court with your bag. Do you get it? Receive a car in Jesus name. So don't. Take what I'm sharing lightly. How many of you don't have your own house? You don't have the house that's for you. Raise your hand. You are also poor. So as you are sitting here about to fall asleep because I've mentioned FAO, just because I've mentioned FAO. As soon as I mentioned. The word FAO it's like. You started to roll over this preaching does not have verses in it. If you want a vest, you can take it that I wish above all things that that may as prosper and be that that's it was that forces that what Yeah are vests, but I'm not trying to show it to you from the Bible. I'm trying to show you that in the world's experience and they have looked at human beings all over, trying to analyze why people are poor. What are the prevailing patterns statistically of when the people are poor, people are poor, people are. What are the characteristics And one of the main they found lack of knowledge, which is interesting that as I was showing this film yesterday, several people were sleeping yes and falling asleep in snippets and sections. How many know of somebody who was falling asleep in sleep and not you, But you know of somebody? Yeah. Only those on the back are honest. Yeah. So lack of knowledge, lack of herding skills? Yeah, skill. Skillful pastoral work, skillful management of the members, the sheep, the rich, the poor, the young, the old, the women, the men, skillfully managing them. In conjunction with laziness, which is a characteristic of phlegmatics. One of the characteristics of phlegmatics is laziness. How many know that? Is it in the temperament book? Is laziness a characteristic of phlegmatics? They would. Not lift up their asses to get to the job. Excuse my language, excuse me to say. And they have 1000 spiritual reasons, 1000 spiritual reasons for the for something you know. But I tell you that is why Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Italy, they've just ignored the African continent and move on to develop their riches. They. Have no concern for us at. All and the embassies that they have here actually create jobs for Italians, they create jobs for Britain. They make millions of dollars collecting Vista application fees, $50 hundred dollars days and they employ their staff and they do all their activities here. It's a profit making thing. If you go to the embassy in the morning and see thousands of Ghanaians trying to still go out, hey, everybody has paid fees, they have paid all their staff and their embassies here are not an expert. It's our embassies in those countries. We are renting houses, having embassies in countries we don't need to have them. And consuls and ambassadors. And we pay thousands of dollars to maintain our ambassadorial missions. Oh, and staff and rent. And the man of vision, as usual, coming Kruma. If you go to America, you see a building that he bought for the Ghana government and India as well, Nigeria as well. He bought the buildings, you see, that's a that's a leader that the builder. You see this skyscrapers that you see in New York, one of them belongs to Ghana. Yeah. He bought it for the embassy. Yeah. In those days. OK. Imagine what it's worth now, you know, but a vision. Less people renting, renting, renting all over the place Swiss embassy can they buy they'll buy the building they buy, they'll pay rent, they'll buy the building and then they'll be there and they'll collect the the whatever and they'll write they make a notice and last time I went to the Swiss embassy there I made a notice that liars the. People who don't believe in God, who don't read the Bible, they found a vest in the Bible about lies and liars, who something something will not prosper or something liars. It's like, as you come to see that reception, this is what? You must look at. Are coming to tell lies. Look at it. Anyway, there's a lot OK. Lack of good skills was often A cause related to the life cycle stage of a household anyway. The most notable cause of intractable poverty? Intractable poverty. That's poverty. That's intractable. Check it. You cannot eradicate it, no matter the method. How many want to know the cause? FAO. I'm not saying it to how many want to know the most. Notable cause by by FAO of the cause of intractable poverty. Intractable, hard to control or deal with. Hard to control or deal with. But of a person difficult or stubborn. Difficult or stubborn, Intractable poverty identified by the majority. Both in the interviews and the training was do you want to know what it was? I won't tell you. Should I tell you? Do you really want to know the most? Intractable cause of poverty how many will be surprised when I mentioned the intractable cause of poverty it. Starts with LA ZINESS hey? Read it yourself. See Bishop Saki. Read it what what symbol is here. FAO corporate documents I can't see so repository. OK, it's a big word organized by is very. Small economic Who can? Read Who has eyes? Hello. Yes. Where am I reading? Yeah, organized by Economic and Social Development Department. OK. FAO. OK. Causes and characteristics of poverty. Good, now read this one. The most notable cause of intractable poverty identified by the majority both in interviews and the training, was laziness. Phlegmatism, in my opinion, is the most notable cause of a church not working. That's my experience too. Phlegmatism, in my opinion, is the most notable cause of a chess not working, and is the most notable cause of financial difficulty on the mission field. Yes, because when you just. Change the person, then the thing works, the person changes and the thing works. It's true. And you see the Bible says a lazy man has a reason. He says there's a lion in the street when you are talking to a flag matter and he's giving you the reason if you are not astute. Sharp. Clever, Fast. You will never understand what the person is saying. And when people are not succeeding in the mission, they never admit it properly. That's also my experience. Yeah, they say, oh, this and that and that, but this, this, this and that over here, this, this, that, this happened, this and that. I was talking to one missionary. He was saying, oh, he was able to succeed. Wasn't that a total failure because he was able to get the people but not able to get the financial whatever. If you don't get the financial one to ask me here, do you think we can just gather the people without the financial you? Will be arrested to Alumina police station right now just to get the finances right as well. Otherwise it's not working. Yeah. And there's always a reason. And I asked him, he said, oh, my wife. I said your wife was not on the mission field. Most of the time your wife is not on the mission. If it's oh, because of her condition, you know, there was a medical condition. So what's the condition? Miscarriage. I said, what is miscarriage? Almost of our wife have had miscarriage before. Has your wife had miscarriage before? Yeah, most of our wife have had miscarriage before. And mind you, don't forget I'm a medical doctor. So your wife is not there. You are not. You are not working, whatever. But there's always way around. You can see why The thing is not working if you are not clever. That is why I want to detach myself. Do you understand? I want everybody to challenge. Be what you can, because I cannot carry the weight of 10,000 phlegmatics who are not doing what they have to do. I'm not God, I'm not God and you watch and see it's not the only reason, but many times you see that there'll be excuse upon excuse upon excuse. You look at somebody like Larry in Wah, you would think that as he's in Wah, he should be the most poverty stricken person. Or Landy. In what country are you Navrango? Yesterday Landy came to give me an envelope. When I opened the envelope, $500 was in it. Somebody who is in What's your country, Navrango, Navrango now, no Navrango pastor coming to show a seed in my life of $500. Those of you from America and England, have you sown any seed in my life of $500? It's interesting isn't something you just is the person, the person moved to this, the same person is another person. This can work. This cannot work. So you see, that's what it has been. It has been shown. I said I'm going through all the I'm on property, I'm going through poverty, we'll finish from them. You're going to characteristic of rich people, not by me, but by just secular people. How they have seen that When you see somebody with spring, this is some features that are there always. I will not even mention one verse in the back. You find your own verses to fill in the gaps. Yeah. I cannot bear the weight of 10,000 phlegmatics 10,000 people with 1000 reasons. Characteristics of the most notable causes of the what they are calling laziness. It's not what you think is laziness. This is it. You see, it's not lazy, it's not like it doesn't want to work, but it's characterized by 8 features #1 low interest in a good life. That's what they mean by laziness, because. I can't say that anybody here is lazy in the traditional sense, rather check laziness traditionally. See, that's not what you may think it is Low interest #2 passivity. Look at the bubble in Mozambique. He calls his church member. Ask her I need money to pay my rent. Please help me, Madam. And the woman sends him $6000. But you will not pick your phone and call somebody, so nobody sends money to you and so. But in our place there is nothing like this. Mozambique is declared the poorest country in the whole world, I think after Nigel, so I mean fantastically poor. They are able to make it so you see, again it must be self examination, self diagnosis and talking correctly. Say the right thing. Say the real thing. Don't give reasons. That are not reasons. Laziness. Well, from lazy. So lazy, Unwilling to work or use energy. That is, you see, most of us here are willing to work. But perhaps so that is not a good definition, but perhaps unwilling to use. Energy they have. Worked with so many phlegmatics. Who when you're working with the driver you you as if you, you are as if you are going mad, as if you are getting. You become like an evil person when you are even supervising them. Do this and as a Bible say a lazy man has 1000 reasons why everything is not working. Slow moving. Look at what slow moving is pragmatism. #3 lack of motivation and initiative. This is what they mean as intractable poverty. Lack of initiative and motivation. The next one. Dependency thinking. You see dependency thinking that money should come from somewhere. Please send us money. As I saw I used to have that dependency thinking, but I think now it has gone down. Even last year when you came, that thing was still there, the dependency thinking, but now is better. You are improving. How many realize that what dependency? Dependency means that you are depending on hoping for looking to somewhere. African countries are looking to Germany, looking to England, looking to Michael Jackson to do a concert to send money to you. Now he's dead, how can he come and make his concert? That is why we are saying become who you can become. Don't look to anybody, don't look to Pastor Richard to take what do you call it for the land. I would like to have done Pastor Richard with silver, gold and diamonds and with cars and houses and wealth. That's what I would like to do with him. Yeah. He has been faithful for years for forwarding all his offerings that he takes as long as take, as if he's mad. He will be taking the offering, forwarding it to build a church. You just redistribute it. Yeah. I would like to have done him and say thank you. Yeah. But you see the people with the dependency. We are hoping to see you. Please can we come and see you? We are looking up to you. That is why we are so happy when Obama come, because the dependency man is there. When George Bush came, say Millennium Challenge Rd. he's going to do what? Yesterday I was playing golf on the golf course. An American man came there. When we got down there, what is the boy? Is it Lambeth who was asking me that question? Is it you come here right now. Give him a microphone. Don't move. Don't move slowly. What did you ask me? When, when, when you saw me? What happened? When you were playing the golf and. Are you a pastor? Somebody should throw water on him. Let's let's when you were playing the golf and we got to where you were going to put the ball in the hole and let's let's I'm still learning, so forgive my. Know a little about everything you have stopped giving the since the monkey. Since the monkey chew the book, you have put the book aside at first. We are very active. And the man, the man came and he, the American man, he then when he came and then he greeted us. And he, he greeted us. And he said to Bishop, how many golfers do they have in Ghana? And Bishop said he can't tell him. And he said, well, he's from new something, something. And the way he was talking, I couldn't hear the the the language was. Did you sleep yesterday when I was showing the film? No, please. You didn't sleep OK. Then he told Bishop you can be my guest. So when he was talking, his like Bishop was not paying even attention to him. And he asked Bishop, can I take you a picture? Bishop said, Oh yeah. Then he said I'm Mr. Something, Something. Bishop said I'm Mr. Mills. And so then he turned and he was going. And then I was confused. I said at a stage. So I said, OK, I'll ask Bishop a question when we go. So when we were coming and then I asked Bishop why he introduced himself to the man as Mr. Mills. And then he said, oh, he's not. I mean everywhere that you have to introduce yourself as a Bishop or something. So I took a lesson from that. And then I said to him, I said, it seems like you were not interested in the man's conversation. It's like you didn't pay attention. Then Bishop said to me, yes, if I see Obama, that is how I'm going to behave to him. Yeah. You were surprised at what? Solomon? Come, come, come. It's not the same way. Your eyes have to stop. The way you see a white man, what you see in America, I've seen my salvation. Yes. What did you put the mic? Put the mic properly. When the mic came, I saw that you were still concentrating on the ball and then you were just where you were concentrating on what you were doing. So I also didn't hear anything that man said, but. You don't watch enough films. Yeah. Abraham, you have to give him some of your films. Abraham, you get it. Is it Joy or Abraham? Please who is the one who the film expect? Abraham, you say Abraham. Joy and Abraham look or is it Nigerian movies that you have been watching? Give him, give him some of your films so that he can hear the American accent, please. I also had the same question in my mind. I had a question in your mind. I didn't answer the man that you were, Bishop. That one just said, Mr. Mayor, I was supposed to say that I didn't understand. I didn't understand. So I also had the same question in mind. OK, so you see. And then when the man was going and then when he told I was going to, he's. American. So what if I was to see a village of I mean, would I go, oh, hello, this? No, If I don't do that, when I see an American, it's nothing. You see, But the dependency thinking is what makes us extra super polite. When Obama came, people who normally don't smile, did you see them? There was a particular lady, did you see that? Woman, Ghana woman. Normally there's no smile on her face if you have ever seen her on TV. But that day I saw her teeth for the first time. I said I wanted to film her teeth. Only the dentist or Obama can open her mouth. Are you listening to me? So dependency thinking, yeah, thank you is what makes us so happy about foreigners. So super respectful and very excited is dependency hope. Yeah, I'm not saying don't be polite to foreigner, be as you would have been to somebody from Elmina. Just. Somebody you meet from Elmina, the same cat sees, you give to him, does the same care, not 100 times more cat sees because you are from America. The same respect I give to somebody from Elmina, you give the same to somebody from Manhattan, he said. It was from Harlem. Great. It's nice to see you. You're welcome. How many golfers? I don't know. How many golfers I'm, I'm playing. I don't know. I'm just. Playing go on low intellect, reliance on assistance from others, lack of life skills bad. Training and care of children by parents. The overall feeling was that these types of people are no hopes and in need of some form of assistance to survive. They do not have the ability and life skills to manage alone. So there are 8 characteristics #1 low interest in a good life, passivity, lack of motivation and initiative, low intellect, dependency thinking, reliance on assistance from others, lack of life skills to plan and to organize their lives, bad training and care of children by parents. That's it. How many do you have? Eight. Yeah. Now it was felt by some participants in the workshop that laziness should be dealt with through education. The overall feeling was that these types of people are are no hopes, they have no hope and indeed and in need of some form of assistance to survive. OK #3 FAO Still, who are the poor? The poorest among the poor are identified as #1 those who are lazy and hopeless #2 those who are unable to help themselves. You see, poverty is often overcome. By people who help themselves. Have you noticed the help from America, the help from Europe, has not ever removed poverty from anywhere poverty has been. Removed. By people who help themselves. You get it. Yeah, messy. But how many realize that when people are not helping themselves, they cannot easily believe that if you don't. If if I was to get help, I was. I could make it. Huh. Isn't it true? Huh. Isn't it true? Yeah. OK, It's finished. Sports Zimbo. You can repair. You can repair it. OK, the room is getting so hot that we will not be able to comfortably stay here soon. The weather has changed by the air conditioners don't seem to be working. Is it working? OK, the next one. Those who are lazy and hopeless, unable to help themselves. Those who have very few animals and who lack the interests, who are the poor, the poorest among the poor are #1 those who are lazy and hopeless #2. Those who are unable to help themselves #3 those who have very few animals, few sheep #4. Those who lack. The interest, the interest and the skills necessary for heading. You see, Pastor Obi, do you get it? The interest. That's why I said that it's so interesting to me. And you see somebody lacks the interest. Doctor God, you get it, so interesting. But somebody lacks the interest. Something is interesting to me. So you can assess people by what they are interested in. Yeah, you can assess people about what they are interested in. Another, I give another example of golf. You can assess if people who play golf assess people who don't play golf. Many times they think of all these people are lazy. They've got, if you walk on the three months, you see, you may see it as just working. I mean nothing Now when you start to work, you see. So they look at and say, oh, people are not serious. They are not whatever, they are lazy. It's like fat people. Fat people are generally seen as lazy, out of control, unable to control themselves to do well, etcetera. So it's just a perception. May not be the case. Are you there? Very good. Now I think I'm going to move on from the FAO to the next one, Global Development Research Center. So the first one I gave you was FAO. Now I'm giving you Global Development Research Center on causes of poverty and related issues. And this one is giving us a very interesting revelation. Poverty is explained. By. Two things, two things, two important things. Explain poverty number one. How many want to know the things that can explain poverty? And there are just two. You want to know the two things. You want to know the first one. What about the second one? Is it of any interest to you? Remember that lack of interest? You would think. Everybody's interested. Not everybody's interested. Yeah. But listen, it's explained by two main things #1 individual circumstances of a person. So the individual circumstances of a person can explain, is it getting cooler now? Yeah. Suddenly what has, what has changed? Suddenly it's becoming a little cooler. Or it's not. Yeah, you feel it. Individual circumstances. So your personal circumstances can be an explanation for poverty. Then you get it. Like Uganda, if I was in America, if I was in England. But because I'm in Uganda, do you see? It's like it's explained by that. So that's the first thing that explains poverty, and the second thing which explains poverty generally. Are what we call characteristics of poor people. They all have particular characteristics. Let's see. Ape. Characteristics, they have them deaf and dumb. Characteristics. They have them copying incompletely. Gaps, inability to be taught characteristics of poor people explains poverty. You see, that's why we use statistics because sometimes everybody will explain, you know, these are these are causes. Then you start to go globally and get the statistics, whether is India, whether is Asia, whether is Africa, whether is Europe, whether is America. Poor people. There are poor people everywhere, including America. And you notice that every time people are poor, they have some particular characteristics. Every time you find people, you have some particular characteristics. Huh. How many realize that It's very interesting. It's interesting to me. Yeah. It's very interesting to me. It's like the individual circumstances of the person know this, that because of this, because of this, because of this, because of this, then the other thing that explains poverty. Are what we call characteristics of poor people we have. Some particular characteristics, always messy, hey, Whether they are in America, whether they are in Germany, whether they are, then there are poor people in Germany, whether they are Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Asia, Africa. Whatever that's some kind, it's always there. Let me give you number one amount of education, skill, experience, intelligence. Health, handicaps, age, work, orientation, etcetera. I don't know whether these are examples of the circumstances, discrimination together with race, etcetera. I don't know whether that is now, but I think that is very interesting. I think there's only one point with those people that is characteristics of poor people now multi dimensional poverty. This one is by the UNDP. United Nations Development Programme Poverty Group Multidimensional poverty Poverty is a multidimensional phenomenon. It is not only about the lack of income, but it is about human deprivations in areas of health, education, participation and security is a multi dimensional thing. You can't say you are poor just because of your income. You may have a high income, but if you cannot participate in the life of America, you are still poor because you are an outsider. You are nobody, you don't have papers, you are not wanted. You are black, you are red. You are yellow, You are white. You understand lack of participation, lack of health, lack of education, lack of a car, lack of a house, and I'm. Trying to stir up your interest in good things. I know you are all spiritual pastors, but when we have a camp and maturity, I want to see you coming with your personal cars. I want to see you coming with your. Church buses. I want to see you staying in the hotel and not staying in a student's. What do you call a quarters? I want to see you being able to eat English breakfast. Know how to eat. Eggs and bacon, not just cocoa or earthquake, baby. Receive it in the name of Jesus. Chandel Beshebel Beregas I see setting new cars. Moving all over the place now, capacity development. Capacity development is that these are words you hear on the news is define us. What is capacity development? Let's say somebody developed his capacity is the ability is defined as the ability of people, you see. So when we are doing capacity development, we are developing the ability of people. You are developing the ability of people. So I'm trying to develop your abilities. If you don't improve your ability, no matter how much money we give to you every time you come to Ghana, yes, $1.00, yes, $2.00, yes. Well, it will not change until you develop your capacity. That is your ability to work. It will not change anything in your life. That's why we say that poverty is not reduced by throwing money at people. It just gets finished. It's the ability of people, Amen. And capacity development is the ability of people, institutions and societies to perform functions, so to perform, to solve problems, and to set and achieve objectives. So that is how to develop somebody's capacity or the capacity development speaks of developing the ability to perform. And so as we are here, we are trying to develop your ability to perform on the field, to set and achieve objectives, set a goal and achieve it. Call us to come and dedicate. As we get older, we just want to be dedicating. Michelle Saki, what do you think? Want to be dedicating things, dedicating your child, dedicating your bungalow, unveiling plaques. What do you think? Yeah, basically we should be unveiling your cathedrals and your churches and your schools and other things that you are building. Cutting sword and cutting ribbons. Yeah, it's our joy opening schools and hospitals, hey to solve. Problems if I'd had the opportunity to talk with you about the serpent, which was one of the things I wanted to share with you how to be a. Wise as a serpent, but it's too long. You would have seen how you can solve a problem, but you see your ability to solve the problem. Everywhere has a problem. That's why I said that in the wilderness waters will flow and it's good for us to receive that one. Then there must be an interest in the knowledge, in the science. We must not have the ape culture where when the scientific facts and information understanding is coming, then we start scratching our. Face and start rolling over and smashing the whole thing. The monkeys will just come and hold the projectile and throw it away. Deaf. And dumb, deaf and dumb. Let me tell you something to be deaf and dumb is one of the drastic reductions in capacity in America, American clinical psychology autistic patients that is patients who cannot talk, they cannot speak. You get it. Are put in a category which is tagged MRDD which means mentally retarded, deaf and dumb MRDG because of my child is autistic. It's a polite way of saying my child is mentally retarded. When you don't speak and you don't hear my friend, it's almost a mentally retarded. Minister, I tell you. That's what has. Happened to you. You don't speak, I tell you. Everybody gets. Somewhere by speaking when I see your face, how can I know unless you speak when I When you speak, I know who you are. OK. 3 principles for capacity development #1 ownership. You must work in the ministry by with the mind that I own the Church, you understand it belongs to me, everything belongs to me and it. Does it does? No one can take from you what God has given to you. Yes, we only move people when we are trying to help them or help the church. It's either of the two. But it belongs to you. Daniel, stand up. Irene, stand up. What were you before? Take your mic. Quick, quick, Ida, where were you before? Where were you before you came to Ghana? In Nottingham. Nottingham then after that you came to where? To Accra. To Ghana, then after that you went to where? To Mali and then after that you went to where? To Accra, you went back to Accra and then after that. I'm on my way to Ivory Coast. Ivory Coast. Now tell me, has it been good for you? Yes. Why is it good for you? If it has really opened my heart and my mind into full time ministry and also for mission work. What about Irene? Has it been good? You think it's a good thing? Oh yes. But when you were asked to come from Mali to Ghana, how did you feel that your baby was being taken from you? Yes, please. You see, you think that your child is being taken away from you or something that you have you have built has been taken. So how do you feel now? In relation to going back on the mission field or being around. You're about to lose the opportunity to speak. How do you feel now? I'm asking you something. I feel it's been a privilege to have been involved in various aspects of the mission of, of, of ministry, both as a missionary and as a full time worker. And now going back to the mission. Has it developed your capacity? Yes, please. Now I understand better what is happening in the ministry and I think my my intellectual swing has gone further than it was before. Swung wider, yes. So nothing is being taken away from you when you are being moved. You are being moved to help you. You agree that it has helped you to move. Very much yes, very much so. Why has it helped you? Because I think when you've been on mission, on mission for a period of time and you, you may lose your focus and then you may go down the wrong way. But bringing us back has put us back. On that. It's true. At the point, we thought that we're going to live in Mali and die there, but we realized that the ministry is not like that. You can't be moved anywhere, and what it is is that I'm ready to go anywhere, even if it is changed at any point in time. Has it helped you develop your cab? Do you still feel that you own the ministry? Yes. You still have an ownership feeling? Yes. Why? Because the ministry is owned by the law. Even though I am not the pastor of the Kodesh, I still feel I own it. And even though I'm not the pastor in Asan Craig, well, I feel I own it, yeah. And even though I never stepped in Maliwai whether I feel like owner have a sense of ownership. And it's that sense of ownership that gives me the capacity development telling now you know the words. OK, sit down. The next important key is leadership for capacity. Capacity development is developing abilities, developing the institutions and the societies to perform, developing the ability to solve problems, developing the ability to set and achieve objectives. That's capacity development. You are capable. Everybody say keep up. Capable, capable, capable. Yes, that is capacity development. You are capable. Amen. Leadership. So first is ownership, second is leadership. Pastor Obi is it? True. Are there any revelations? Many AOL #1 decide to be one of the few good leaders in this world. Yes. Number one, everything depends on the leadership #13 many, many. Yeah. So leadership, ownership, leadership. And then #3 for capacity up. How many want to develop your abilities? The first one is ownership, second one is leadership and 3rd 1 is changes in mindset. Changes in mindset. Now I move on to review of economics and statistics. Policy Research Working paper #2011, World Bank, Washington, DC. Measuring poverty using qualitative perceptions of welfare. This one is very interesting. Methods of measuring poverty. Two methods of measuring poverty #1 are you there? Objective quantitative method #2 subjective qualitative method. Now listen objective we are going to analyze. Presentevo. The objective quantitative method of assessing whether somebody is poor and then the subjective qualitative method of assessing whether somebody is poor. Now listen, listen, listen, everybody, look who. If you get this point, it will really help you. It has been discovered that when you try to measure poverty objectively and quantitatively, you get different results from when you measure. Subjective, subjectively and qualitatively. What it has shown is that people who when you, when they subjectively analyze themselves, many people subjectively and qualitatively rank themselves as far poorer than they actually are. When they are measured objectively and quantitatively, Stand up Manesi and Kevin, they are in Cameroon. No, it's OK, They may think we are subjectively. When you come to Accra, you get it, we are poor. You get it when they subjectively analyze themselves. But when an objective quantitative method was put on them, then they were found to be actually richer than they even subjectively think of themselves. And that's subjective, you see, Because if you compare this one to. Somebody living in London? Do you have lived in London before? Will you? Rise. And where is he living in London? Quake Where is he? Rise subjectively and qualitatively. Do you realize that somebody in Washington stand up and techie man? When you objectively and quantitatively assess this man in techie man, or this man in Washington, or this man in in Caranza him in Caranza, you may objectively join us. Objective and subjective, please. Objective and subjective. Objectively, by counting, you find out that they are actually richer than this man who lives in London. It has been shown, but when they ask themselves, am I rich or am I poor, it has been found that that the people subjectively and qualitatively rank themselves lower than they really are, objectively and quantitatively. Because when all is said and done, you understand and you put it all together, you realize that you actually have more money to spend. You also sleep on one bed. You don't owe this, all this, all this. You don't have this stress, You don't have this. You don't have this bill, this issue, this, this, this is so many things. So in quantitative terms you are actually richer, but often when because of the location of certain things and certain factor, subjective qualitative assessment always says oh I am a poor man when I see someone from America. He is rich. Subjective. Subjective based. Materials. Materials in a lecture. Knowledge. I mean, is it not interesting, you know that in reality, many times when you actually quantify it in real terms, you realize that you are actually far richer than somebody who says I'm in America, I'm in here, I'm in here, I'm in here, I'm here when you actually count it. But when they if you ask so the brother who is in Switzerland and the brother who is in Kranza. Or in Washington or in Mozambique, the country that there were so many flood that a woman gave birth on a tree and there was flood that country. This man, you may say, stand up. This man, you may say that this guy you get it is in subjective, qualitatively he, he would think of himself as poor. But when we quantify it, he realized that he's better off in that Mozambique. He's a rich man. And when you have this man, that's when you can go on any mission anywhere, because you realize that no, Charlie, that thing is not like that in reality. And it is this objective quantitative assessment that. Allows. People to go on missions. Yeah, white people have gone on missions all over the world. And one day I went to a certain town in in a in a, in a in a passage. Where was that town where they had a Saturday service? Paraguay. Asancio, not a parag knew you were with me. Bolivia, Bolivia, Bolivia, Santa Cruz somewhere. And Pastor Richard and I were there in this hotel and we went to this man, said after he took us to dinner. The man is from where and his wife is American, have American pasta and everything. They live in Bolivia, in a town. So I asked the man after, Will you not go to America? I said. Me I should. Go to America. Why should I go to America? He said. I live like a king over here, he said. I'm in America. I cannot have this. I cannot have a servant. I cannot have this. Why should I ever go to America right now? See when you objectively. Quantitatively, look at it, you realize that I'm even better off in this village, in this so-called undeveloped whatever corner of the world. Yeah. So begin to assess yourself objectively, quantitatively, and you will realize that these people who are abroad, so when they come Ahmedabad, Nuku, Nuku, they don't have money. Subjective qualitative, objective quantitative. Terms of objective quantitative versus subjective qualitative. Objective quantitative versus subjective qualitative. Shagabalaba Suba. So you must tell people, you see, subjectively and qualitatively, you may think that I am at a poor location, but objectively and quantitatively I'm better off than you. That's why person Patrick is prospering in Tamali, because objectively, quantitatively you are better off. Yeah, objective, quantitatively. But why you say? Why do you say I say in Tamali? Subjective qualitative versus what? Objective quantitative. Measuring poverty using quantitative perceptions of welfare. That's what I gave you, what I write here. Again, this is what the topic of what I'm saying. Objective quantitative versus subjective qualitative. You see, if I give you the paper, you will not understand it. It is here. Our results suggest a lot of defense in poverty measures between urban and rural areas than found by more conventional objective approaches that are based on the concept of basic and absolute consumption needs. You understand it. People in poor areas perceive themselves. People in poor areas perceive themselves to be even poorer. Than objective comparisons suggests, hey, our subjective protecting lines indicate sizeable scale economies in consumption. Do you understand me too? I don't understand. Indeed, unlike commonly used objective method, large households planting large, large households and small households. But you see, this is the great revelation here. You see, I. Mean, I ask myself, I've got medical doctors who are colleagues. They can't get someone to eye on their shirts. I I have AI, have a chef. I've come to this camp with my chef, a personal chef. Yeah, I have administrators, secretaries, workers, personal assistants galore. Personal singer Personal singer, come and sing. Start saying I'm like Solomon, but when I when I I may not be ending that that that that whatever. When I do the subjective, when I do the objective quantitative and I compare with the subjective qualitative, I realize that I'm above. Yeah, because objectively, if you are in America, you have to employ somebody to to, to. Sing You have to employ a chef, you have to employ a secretary, you have to employ this whatever you can employ where you at all? It's more than their salaries without debts. Objective. Quantitative. Walking with you. I'm asking you a question. You can take me how? Many of my American daughter can just say this. Then the song starts. Walking with you I love walking with you and I love talking with you. Oh, I love, I love you so love talking with you because anything you tell me Lord, it's always true and so I love talking to you. Oh yes, I love, I love talking to you. That is why I love. Walking with the Lord bosses, I started working with the Lord, although subjectively, qualitatively, when I was a colleague on our people were saying that I am down. Objectively, quantitatively, I was up. Singing to you. You make those. Melodies. That keep me in tune and so I love singing to you sweet sweet melodies. I love singing to you die love walking with you. I love, I love, yes, I love walking with you. From today, let your subjective qualitative assessment rise to the reality of the objective quantitative assessment. Don't let any woman, any wife, any person, any child deceive you and push you away from your calling by using a subjective qualitative assessment that is lower than the reality of even the objective quantitative assessment. Yeah, don't let anybody push you. When I was talking to a person, I said my wife has made me go here, then she made me go here. My whole ministry is confused. Pressure. Do this today. Don't do this. This is not good. We will die here. This and this will happen, this and that. Don't let any such things push you around. I tell you, rise and be strong. Rise and be strong because, and that's what as a leader sometimes you look and you rather you have to be strong because the people want to use setting subjective qualitative lower assessment to try to say that challenge. No, no, we are in a bad situation. We are in a worse situation, we are worse off, but we are rejecting that in the name of Jesus. Yeah, a lot of people do that. They want to come lower the thing and instead it in the poverty thing that many people subjectively they give themselves a lower. What do you call it on a reality? You are living in a village. You don't take transportation from here to here. Here, everywhere you can walk. When we are in Accra, all that we are eating. All that we are using our money is to buy fuel, fuel to go here, to go here, to go here, to go here. At the back of your house is your food is growing there. The food that you eat is right in the house. Quantitatively, when you add it, you are better off. Fresh fish from the sea is coming. You are eating it every day. Fish is like air that you are breathing. A criteria from the forest are coming to you. Cassava. Everything cheap when you look at it quantitative objectively. Objective, Quantitative. When I assess myself, if I have to personalize for all the people that do so many things for me, I must be a multi millionaire by now. Multi and long ago you see me, I didn't know that this is what it was, but long ago I realized that certain people are using subjective, lower subjective, qualitative me. I stayed in Sue whom before Sue whom and when I was there, there's no, there are no expenses there. It was in Sue whom that I saw them using 5. Is it 5 CVS certain currency that we use in Accra? They don't they they that we don't we are stop using in Accra. They are using it there currency that we have stopped using. It was in Zoom that I saw them using. It. I said money is not used. There are towns in Ghana. They don't use my butter. Butter. Here's my fish. Yes, you're so very changed. Yes, my oil, here's my fish. Then we change plenty, certain yams and certain plantains, certain tomatoes. When you quantify objective quantitatively, you realize that Accra people are suffering, landing people are suffering, American people are suffering. Begin to open your eyes, my friend, because the United Nations Development Organization have seen it already. How many Relax Sector has been exposed to today? Next one causes of inequality, causes of inequality, causes of inequality. How many I realize that God is solving certain. You see maturity when they send you to Jirappa, when they send you to Salaga, when they send, you should say thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God for this opportunity, thank God for this opportunity, Thank God for this opportunity. What a blessing it is. Instead of saying to yourself, ah, subjectively, qualitatively, I am down. Shandalabas sabo ka talaba bang balabas I was. Working on the bank by now what? You will be a what? When we are taking offerings, how much are you able to give? That's how you know when people are prospered by how much offering they are able to give. That's my main way that I assess people's prosperity is by the offering they are able to give. Because depending on who you are, you can give certain offerings. Yeah, Yeah. Recently I set an. Offering to young mutual I cannot send such an offering to you. If I have not reached a certain level of prosperity, I cannot give such an offering. I just sent him myself. I've got to bless him. He's a blessed me too much in my life. Just even the association, the interaction interact with the greaterness more. Shalay Abbas Paloba Ellama Abbas Amanagas. Subjective, qualitative. This is objective, quantitative. You maybe say that there's no street name in your somebody say my the name of my street is Martin Luther Blvd. Blvd. There's no Blvd. in your area that is behind the kiosk by the watches seller. And because there's no street name and there's no time subjective qualitatively you think you are lower that when we get into the objective quantitative, you see that Salaga behind the watches seller is better than number 443. Boom, Martin Luther Blvd. objective quantitative. Most of the Ben, where were you when you were coming from England, were you not broke? Objectively, quantitatively, were you not broke? You couldn't, you couldn't do anything with yourself, objectively, quantitatively, when you I said. Come out of England. You have to stay for a long time to struggle, struggle. Somebody has to give you money to help you to even pay your debt objectively and quantitatively. Is that not the reality? And you are sitting in Uganda, you think that you are not black because the name of the place is Uganda and because there's red sun on the street. The reality and the objective, quantitative is that you were totally impoverished in London where you were. Come on, don't give me that. Don't give me that. Anyway, I can't play. How much did you have? You say you are working in the bank. You are working. What did you have when you were there? What are you doing there? Come on there, come on, come on. Your brothers and sisters, where are they? What do they have? Your colleagues, what do they have? When you assess it objectively, quantitatively, it's a see, it's a satanic accusation. That is why it has taken UNDP and added to to reveal that thing. You see that a lot of people say we are coming on the mission. They cannot come. They cannot come because their legs are tied, the right leg, the left leg, the water. When somebody is in London, he tells me that he's going on mission. I don't believe that unless I've seen it. College, you are in Amsterdam, sub the objective party. You didn't have money Every day. You are owing for sound system. You are owing for this. Not forgotten. When I come there, I have to use my own money to buy food. Hey, Objectively, Quantitatively. Objectively, quantitatively. You don't have anything. You are there. I've been, I've slept in your house. I've been there so many times. What you have there, Let's all tell the truth that has come to actual calculations and see it's called Amsterdam. But what is it objectively, qualit, quantitatively, what do you have? What do you have? That's the truth. People like to, you know? You know, I was also offered certain things. I was at a working at this place and now I had a certain whatever. Hey, we are no more accepting subjective qualitative assessment. Can't accept it again. You wait till the nuclear bomb starts. You went to the nuclear bomb starts. Prices in Ghana will go high. You can't even get a village to stay in for those places will be you can radiation go to Ukraine? There are cities with houses and everything. There's no human being there. It's a good city. You go. You see in the river fish, a small fish has become very big through nuclear radiation, has become big with cancer of the eye. Different of the animals, owls and ostriches are inside their houses. The whole city you wait till one person start one pimp like this. In the Western world everybody will say Africa. Charlie, how much is a Lana? Don't go Chrome. Where can I get a house? I leave the house at Salaka. I want to go to Jirappa. I want to go to Jirappa to build my house or cheer. It's now that I have seen that objectively, quantitatively, it is better to be in Jirappa. Don't allow any wife. Wife, they always say. You see, when the husband and wife meet, there is some invisible contest. To see who is stronger. And just as among animals, some families are ruled by the female, like hyenas. Hyenas are ruled by the females. Lions, the ladies does the hunting. It's not always that a man leads, you see, but when you're in the House of when you're a pastor, you have to be very careful. Don't think a wife will lead you. You are supposed to be leading. That's if she doesn't have a call. Yeah. And the same way there is an invisible contest to see who is powerful. They must determine strength in you. They must say that you are strong that is strong, the strongest so far. When you say we are going to heaven knows where we. Are going. We know we will. We will get. Heaven knows how we will get. We know we will. It won't be hard, we know. And the road will be money and rock. What will get now? Heaven knows how we will get. We know we will. They. Should keep watching us. They should keep watching us. Subjectively, qualitatively, we are assessing them. Quantitatively subject. Objectively, at the end of the day, we shall see by objective quantitative assessments who is who. When they start to record in heaven, who? Is who? Who is who? Even on earth? Who is who? Cry. We are ahead. I see you. Ahead, in the name of Jesus, all poverty aspects of your life are being cancelled. In the name of Jesus, you shall never be categorized among poor people again. In the name of receive the blessing of the Lord in the name of Jesus. Causes of inequality #1. Watson School of the University of Pennsylvania for his empirically founded interpretation of insight into the economic and social structure. If you don't, we are all the same X I'm not of the factors which cause any #1 interrelated factors. So one factor is usually related to another. That's why once and when you don't copy #10 the you didn't copy every seven and eight this order number 9 and 10 copy. Yeah, they are nonlinear. They are nonlinear and then number. Now these are very. Often caused by nonlinear complex factors. When you say nonlinear, it's like it's all like when you do this, it goes to this goes to this goes to one line, it's this, then that happens, then another thing happens. So it's complicated. And that's why it takes often intelligence to be able to follow a certain pattern because the factors are not just straightforward. When I do this three times, I will be rich. That's why it takes a certain kind of intelligence, and that's why leaders who are also able to create wealth must be rewarded. And that is why CEOs paid so much money, create so much money, because there is nonlinear and interrelated, complex, nonlinear, interrelated issues which all work together to create wealth. So as I am a leader of the church, now I'm dealing with complex nonlinear issues which are interrelated. Yeah, The crusade is interrelated to the school. It's interrelated to the church. Most of the people we've had a crusade, the church is working better. It's nonlinear, it's complex and by related. And sometimes I'm going to say, do the school by not knowing that it's going to lead to this. I've got to say, do this not known that it's going to lead to that, which will lead to that and which will lead to something else and so many complicated things. And that is why sometimes leaders have certain privileges, which sometimes others don't have, because they are dealing with so many issues under so much pressure. Do you understand which, which, which? And if they make any mistake or they don't get certain things right, the whole so many circles can just go out of rotation and out of orbit. Yeah. For everybody, for everybody. Factors that cause inequality #1 Labour, the labour, the job, the jobs. That I've done the work that people do now poverty is connected to the work that you do. Just as if right, your jaw grass and somebody's job is the Doctor Who is writing prescriptions, He is paid more, do you understand, for the job that he does? Do you get it? Similarly, if you take countries with weed, the grass and harvest cocoa and coconuts, they will be paid for that. And somebody who have made a complicated factory to make a Land Cruiser and to make a computer and a camera, do you understand? And as mixer and sound system and speaker, he will be paid differently from somebody who just all that he does is he hold the mango like this and he puts it off Simple. It's a simple task. So this is one key that takes us all out of poverty if you are a pastor of only poor people. I can assure you, you see you are heading goats in Mongolia as against somebody. Who is looking? After 2 million and $4 million race horses, they're all animals. Yes, I know somebody who had a horse for his. Horse to have to. Cross another horse which means to have sex. He had the horse. The horse has even stopped running. He was not even racing with it. All that he was doing is you pay 1,000,000, two million dollars, $2,000,000 for his horse to cross. Another horse. You bring the true life for the sperm of my horse as against your goats that you are heading in Mongolia. They are all heading activities, but it's a product you are dealing with. So every single pastor must believe God to have prominent sheep or race horses amongst your sheep. Yes, it's just like a country. A country if the president of, of, of, of, of. Ghana or the leadership of Ghana? Were to recognize the importance of rich people and encourage the presence of rich people and encourage the country, the nation to allow there to be rich people in the. Country and to. Let them flourish and even protect them and give them special concessions and rights to exist and to be here. I tell you, the whole country will change, because now among the nation. Are in the nation among the 20,002,000 millionaires. And I went to. Switzerland the other day they mentioned how many millionaires they have, so number of thousands who was with me, sometimes of thousands of millionaires they have and they say it has gone up. And it's something that was they have the pilot in our country. Yeah. You know, in America, the number of millionaires, number of people who become millionaires every day. And so a great thing to them, to the millionaires, the number of rich people. The number, if you have an important person who comes to your church, you see, you have to treat the person a little, of course, not that you, you, you treat them. You don't treat the poor people well. But just as Jesus gave special attention to Nicodemus, his session with Nicodemus was recorded. All Zacchaeus out of the tree went to his house, ate in his house, and so on. There is that accord 1000 to whom? The owner is do you give the president, if President Rowley walk into my chair or President Kufu or any of those people, I will honor them as deserve to be honored. You understand? So if you're only heading the lowest form of governments, only children, whatever, obviously your activity economically as a pastor, you understand it's not going to yield much because one rich person can give what 1000 poor people will give because the wealth is not equally distributed. So that's why when we talk about dressing, you see, that's why I said that the causes of the are complex, interrelated and nonlinear. So I may be preaching about this, but it's a complex circle. When you see a person dressed in a certain way does not impress or a person you see like the gentleman Lambert and whatever they said, did not hear what the man was saying. Unique. If you are going to ever relate with Americans, you need to be able to hear. What they are saying you need to be able to see. You see Jamal is sleeping. I'm not interested in what I'm saying. So if you are poor, you see what I'm saying should be. Very. Interested in somebody who wants to be rich. You see, the factors are nonlinear and they are interrelated. You are not feeling well. You are well, yeah, but the interest is not there. Do you see? Complain how many are bored with what I'm saying? How many? Is what I'm saying? Bored. Somebody is falling asleep. The ability to be taught. But Sir Richard, it's not fantastic. Yeah, yeah. Isn't it not fantastic? I'm talking about something. I'm explaining that all that you have in your field are goats and sheep, and somebody has a racehorse A. Horse which could have. Also been in your field and that horse will produce 2 million each time it has sex. You prepare 2. Million not not. I'm not talking about something that imagining, but it's something I've watched a dog because what happened was that one day somebody came and set a fire to that to where the horse was and killed the horse. Yes, somebody came and set a fire to where the horse was and killed out. It was actually a crime that I was watching, yes. And then the horse was insured before the fire came. So when the horse was killed, the guy claimed millions. So now they were, they were, they were checking to see whether the guy had killed the horse himself. So that's what the whole thing was about, the charge. For the horse to have sex. So wives, it's very expensive. And when you see this thing, I spread it. Well, Mata, do you understand what I'm saying? One shot 2 million. How many are understanding poverty? A little bit, yeah. So I want you guys to be able if an Englishman speaks, you know, like you see when in Ghana, if essay an American comes to preach like we don't understand what he's saying or somebody with a British accent you don't understand say. What do you realize that you are not international. The problem is with you. You don't have to say for these white people, we don't know. No, don't be like that. You see, decide these are complex, interrelated issues. Complex. Interrelated. Nonlinear, yeah. Because poverty is explained by the characteristics of poor people, which one of these intractable laziness. And this I'm not sharing from the Bible, I'm sharing it from the facts of reality and of life. It's the spirit of knowledge. How many realize you are getting the spirit of knowledge? And as I'm sharing somebody sleeping, you know, you have neither house nor car with members. And I'm showing you, trying to show you how to dress, how to be in a way, how to hear the American accent, this accent, all types of people gonna beg this to do this. Even David come you say you play golf in Jamaica and when you go, what do they ask? What are they? Check it first. Hello. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because many people, many black people, don't play there. Whenever I go there, they often think I'm an ambassador or a consultant. They think you are an ambassador and. I am. They think you are an ambassador or a consultant, medical consultant, subjective, qualitative. You are objectively yes. I remember once the caddy was telling me that, oh, you need some sponsorships. They want me to sponsor the game that you're going to. Play they wanted you to sponsor. A golf see, they were asking him for sponsorship. So you see, you realize that factors are what? Interrelated, Complex. Nonlinear. Yeah, so that's why a. Simple mind which is not working in a certain way, lack of intelligence will never catch these different issues and their relationship. You'll just be scratching your teeth, this one, Amen. And so poverty causes of inequality 1 is the labor, the labor after that, the labor, the type of work you do, you understand? So you must now not become just a pastor of poor people. Every town has an important person. In fact, even every town sometimes has some really important who comes from there? Who does not stay there but comes occasionally? Yes, yes. So everybody must try. All those things are part of it. When they see you and they are, they think you are the driver. So everybody should ask yourself, do you look like the driver? Yeah, you must. You must examine yourself. Do you look like the driver of the whole place or what do you look like? You have to assess yourself. Amen. Selassie, are you getting the non related, nonlinear related complex? Yeah, this is, this is complex poverty. And poverty is always explained by the individual circumstances and the characteristics of poor people, which are always there, some particular characteristics, intractable laziness, but #2 innate ability. Now when we talk about labor, we also talk about like being a layperson and finding a job. Sometimes to do well and to improve yourself, you need to find a job for some time. Because your activity may be just sleeping in the house from morning to evening and always saying that you are poor. You're just sleeping in the house from morning to sleeping. So your activity, the labor, the work you do causes also the poverty. When you can teach, you can teach. You can teach all your classes in one week for the whole time and then you finished and your students will be the best do pass course with them and you have the best school and you help yourself. So you get that salary. You put it aside. Nobody will even see that you are going to work there. I'm a full time pastor. I just do some part time teaching to just help the school here and there. My students are always the best. The whole world will be coming to you. Listen, let me tell you, it's all depend on the personal. But a lazy person who knows oh God has called me since God has called me after being to prayer. Which you mean by sleep prayer. Meditation. Which you mean by watching television and films? Do you see? And so on and so forth. And for the gentleman who was sleeping is the one who was watching the film to 4:00. I shouldn't say it. I have to say all these things. Nobody should be upset because I'm just trying for you to. See in such a way. Education. Innate abilities. The abilities of the person, education, now the race. It has also been found that some races, some nations, some groups. Have a lot of poverty. So it seems to be country statistically, because if you look statistically black people and Africans, we seem to be the owners of poverty. We seem to have bought shares in Poverty Poverty Company. It's like permanent shares and ownership and the innate ability. It has been shown. Many people believe that there is a correlation between differences in intelligence, strength, charisma. Which affect a person's ability to operate within society. Intelligence, strength and charisma, which allow an individual to operate within society in general. I'm just telling you what these are not mine. That is not mine. What? What does it say here? Somebody give him a microphone so that he tell you that through me some of the things I am I myself, I don't understand it, but what are what are they written here? Mr. Who? Simon. Smith. The person, Simon Smith. Never touch the button on this thing again, OK? Simon Smith Kuznets. What school? Walton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Yes, that's the document. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm reading. Amen Gender. What is gender? Sex. Are men more wealthy than women? Culture is the next one. Amen. Development patterns. And finally, personal preference for work, leisure and risk. Personal preference for work, leisure and risk. And another, I'm going to give you something, I want you to write it down. Personal preference. That's the last point for causes of inequality. And then I'm going to give you the United States commonest thoughts on poverty. How many want to know what the United States thinks about poverty? The commonest thought that they think Are you ready to write under personal preference? Let's write this down. When that write diversity of preferences within a society often contribute. So in economic inequality, OK, you didn't get it. Diversity of preferences within a society often contribute to economic inequality. Have you got that? Did you get it? Should I say it again? Diversity of preferences within a society often contribute to economic inequality. Have you got that? Now I'm continuing when faced with the choice. Listen, look at me, everybody. I am so happy. That I'm about to read what I'm about to read. How many are glad that I'm happy that I'm about to read because. It is a fantastic revelation of statistics. Listen to when faced with the choice. Write it down when faced with the choice between working harder. To earn money. Or. Enjoying more leisure time When faced with the choice between working harder to earn more money or enjoy more leisure time. Comma. Have you got a comma? Write the comma. Equally capable individuals, equally capable individuals with identical earning potential, with identical earning potential often choose different strategies. Did you get it? Equally capable individuals with identical earning potential often choose different strategies. I'm continuing This leads to economic inequality. This leads to economic inequality even in societies with perfect equality in abilities and circumstances. This leads to economic inequality even in even in societies with perfect equality in abilities and circumstances. Did you get it? Yeah. Now this is very interesting. When individuals can I have 5 individual with your notebooks here. When individuals with equal learning capabilities are faced. With. With what? Read it yourself is there with the choice between what? To to work between. Working hard when this man was faced with the opportunity to work hard and earn more money and this one or enjoy more blowing of pleasure, this is leisure. To sit here, it's leisure. To work hard is to go here. So these three are going to choose leisure 123, they're going to choose to rest and these two are going to choose to work hard. But they are all doctors. They're. All pastors, they're all identical in every area with equal capabilities, are faced with the choice of earning more money, working hard to earn more money. Or relaxing and blowing time or doing whatever. Or not going to work when the. Same people with equal capabilities have to choose oh, I'll work in the night. OK, I'll do this drawing in the night. Oh, I will do this. Computer, Internet work. I'll do this. I can make this. I can do that. Work. Go and learn. Rest or work. Same capabilities, some choose to rest. And some choose to work. Now begin to choose right now what you want, rest or work. These two have chosen to work. And these three have chosen to rest. Mongolia and Seattle come back. All of you come back here. Be in this corner. Come back here, all of you. Come this way. 5 people with capabilities, same gift. They were all given a foundation and a church building. They were all given instruments. They were given thousands of dollars support. They were given monthly whatever. They were all trained. They were all trained in ABMTC for four years. They were all. Pastors, they were all came to Maturity Conference. They were all given the notes. They were all at impartation. They all had the Mckennair and they were all given the same opportunity. You understand and they said look, you can take some rest or you can work. It happens in school. You see that all of them are in the dormitory and some have a choice to sleep on and some have a choice to wake up and learn in the night. You see that some people will get up in the night to left and the others will sleep. When people are faced with the same, what does he say? Read it yourself when they have to choose. Read it ready, go when. Hard to earn. More money, leisure. Equally capable individuals with identical earning potentials often choose different strategies. This leads to economic inequality even in societies with perfect equalities in abilities and circumstances. Read the sentence before that. The last or one sentence No. Before that, when faced. When faced with yes. The choice between working harder to earn money. Working harder? Yes, or join. Join more leisure time. Equally capable individuals. Equally capable individuals with what potential? Identical earning potential that mean potentially they can all end exactly the same thing. Wow. I mean identically they could identical. They have identical ending powers. Some will choose to rest and some will choose to work and it causes inequality in societies. Wow. One faced with a choice between going to sleep in the bed or go and walk on the golf course. Some will choose to rest and some will choose to go to the golf course to walk around. It causes inequalities. Big bottoms and ties and other and smaller bottoms and ties and pot bellies and other things. Now everybody we are going to countdown from 10 to 0 when we get to 0, choose equally capable with identical ending powers. Rest or Wet 1098765432. One Zalu. Equal opportunities. Hey, is it not an amazing cause of inequality? Yeah, the cause of inequality. So sometimes you, you, you. That is why communism, communism is an evil thing because it seeks to make everybody equal when equally capable people with identical and empowers are giving. Go this way, they don't make the same choice. And when one goes to work hard, you want him to be the same as the person who did not go to work and redistribute everything. As communism, is it as communism? Fantastic, isn't it? How many are learning something today? We are breaking out, you see. We are breaking out of poverty to become who you can become. This is what we call diversity of preferences. Put it under. That's the topic and what you just copy. Diversity of preferences. The commonest thoughts about poverty in America. Journal of Development Studies, 1108 to 112 Nine, 2006. The most common line of I've finished with inequality causes of inequality and I'm moving to the commonest thoughts do you see thoughts on poverty views? The most common line of thoughts within the United States of America is that a person is. Poor because of personal traits. Mercy. Personal traits. Yeah, this is the. Commonest thought about poverty that it is caused by personal traits. Yeah. #2 These traits cause the person to fail. These are common thoughts that these personal traits cause the person to fail. Supposed traits range from personality characteristics, the personality. We are not talking about temperaments. These traits which cause poverty range from personality characteristics. Comma laziness has come again because when people with equal capabilities with identical earning powers are given the same choice, one prays for seven hours and one goes to sleep. Hey, laziness and educational levels #3 common less thoughts about poverty. #3 it is always viewed as the individual's personal failure not to climb out of poverty. In America, it is viewed that it is personal failure when a person refuses to climb out of poverty. That's how they think that to not climb we're in poverty, but to not climb out of it is actually due to personal failure. Challenger things are serious. From monkeys to poverty, we are going from here to riches. #4 Personal failure is revealed. It's revealed by resistance to social and economic programs that are made available. Resistance. Stubbornness has shown up again. Become who you can become. Resistance. How many realize that poverty is something Amen, But the next one? The common The 5th commonest thought about poverty is that a poor. Person's. Lack of prosperity shows a personal failing and he should not be compensated by the state. Did you get it? Oh, a poor person's lack of prosperity. Shows a personal failing is personal failure and this person must not be compensated by the state. He should not be supported by the church. Wow, how many are realizing that it is too fantastic? How many I realize I'm sharing something fantastic? That's the 5th and the last Thoughts. And this one is from General of development studies. Persistent poverty, the next one, Persistent poverty. Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, United States. The University of Wisconsin, Madison, WIUSA University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA. Published Journal of Development Studies, Volume 42, issue 2, February 2006, pages 167, Six and 177. Persistent Poverty. Shaga AL Asbalaba. Hey, the key listen to the key denominator on persistent poverty is. Revealed by identifying those who have not being able to take advantage advantage of promising new opportunities they cannot take advantage promising new opportunities when the opportunity is there they don't take it, they don't use it they give an example of how they. Liberalisation led to a boom in tobacco production in Malawi, but only a subset of the rural population took advantage of it. They gave another example that when a massive exchange rate devaluation occurred in Cote d'Ivoire in 1994, only some of the households took advantage of that taking advantage of opportunity that is placed before you. They gave the fourth example, 4 households in Madagascar were not able to take advantage of a promising production technology that wealthier farmers were able to take advantage of to increase their rice yields. And the last unfortunate example is similar patterns were noticed in Ghana where some people, the farmers were not able to take advantage of new higher value crops and improved Bullock plough technologies. Because they will do their research at CSIR and come with newer form of yam or newer form of corn or whatever, but they do not take it. And they instead of that they were, they were farming 10 acres and it was giving them so much. Now that this new type has come, they just found four acres and it gives them what they used to get when they were getting 10 acres. CSIR Yeah. Failure, persistent poverty, failure to take advantage of what new promising opportunities that are presented to the poor person. But I believe you have all learnt enough about poverty for a lifetime to explain to you why poor people are poor and why you should not have all these characteristics. The first thing that we went through was what? What was the first thing? Causes and characteristics of poverty by FAO isn't it? The second one was what? Global development research isn't it also causes of poverty and related issues? The third one was what multi dimensional poverty by UNDP and the next one was what capacity development Amen. And the next one was what? No, that was objective. Yeah, objective quantitative methods, methods for measuring permit OK, yes, qualitative yes. And the next one was what causes of inequality? And the next one was what factors that cause inequality? And then the characteristics of the factors that they are what interrelated, nonlinear and complex. And the next one was what 5 diversity of preferences. And the next one was what commonest thoughts about poverty in America? And what was the last one of the No, no, no, no, the one, the last one on the five commonest thoughts about what was the last point there? A poor person's lack of prosperity shows what personal failing. And he should not be what compensated. Yeah. He should not be supported. He should not be given more money. Yeah, he should not be given more money by the church. What do you think? Hey, is it fantastic? It's scary. So that mean the donor they are giving us is not actually. To help us to prosper, No. Because actually they said that we should not be compensated for our failure and poverty. So all the donor they are giving us. But Obama said it when he came. He said that the property in Zimbabwe is not caused by colonialism. This is not caused by this. Don't start blaming them. You have to rise up Africa. Will be developed by Africans. See, that's their mind. Their mind is that it's caused by our personal failing. Our personal failing to develop and to rise up and to live, which is a fact. It's a fact. Ghana has gone through all these things because of the kind of leaders we have and the kind of people that are in charge of things. I said we are going to emphasize on agriculture, we are going to do this all kinds of things. Rich people are hounded out. No one can have a lot of money in his bank account. Everybody is afraid. Yeah, when I suggest, oh, a minister says we give you a percentage, all these former ministers have said they will all be millionaires today. We can add them to the top 100 or top 500, top 1000 millionaires in Ghana so that there are rich people in Ghana so that all these hotels and other things will be owned by Ghanaians and then all their families and future relatives will also be rich. And when you started, they would say get away. Is that what you do in your country? Disappointed European red, red go away. And what Lebanese man this one that and that you see when you suggested this is the man roll over, scratch your, your right to do scratch this everybody scratch this. Fuck him. And the last one is what? Persistent poverty. OK, we are going to take a 5 minute, 10 minute break to revive. Stand on your feet and let's pray against poverty. Father, we reject the spirit of poverty in our life. Oh Jesus, we thank you, we give you praise, we give you glory. We thank you, Father, in Jesus name, in Jesus name, in Jesus name, Amen.
