Welcome to track #36 of the powers of a cross. The power of the cross is the power released to enable you to please God, yet it please the Lord to bruise him. He hath put him to grief, when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin. Amen. He shall see his seed. He shall. Isaiah 53, verse 10 it please the Lord to bruise him. Amen. How many want to please the Lord? Allow the Lord to bruise you, mercy. That's why I said that the accomplishments of God or for the work of God are the things you do and also the things you allow and the things you experience. Are you listening to me? The things you allow and the things you experience, they are all part of the accomplishments. Now it says it pleased the Lord to bruise him, for he has put him to grief. Sometimes for you to become what God wants you to do, He will actually put you to grief. Grief, grief, crying, sorrow, pain, when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see, he see he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. Isaiah 53, verse 10. It pleases the Lord when he bruises you. You see now all that we teach is that the Lord has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. That's a popular verse, but this one is also saying that it please the Lord to bruise him. What do you think? Is it fantastic, huh? How many are ready for the law to bruise you? Mersey? Mersey. Bruise, bruise. He's going to bruise you. Oh stop pretending you're already bruised with your own ways, your own ways and your own life have already bruised you and work in love. Ephesians chapter 5 verse 2 as Christ has loved us and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling saver. How many want to be a sweet smelling saver? How many want to be sweet smelling? How he gave himself as an offering and a sacrifice to God or a sweet smelling saver sacrifice, you become sweet smelling. How many have been into a toilet before? There was nobody there. The person who came there has done everything, has gone, but when you got there, you were not happy at all with what you expect and you wanted to go out immediately. You see, that is what it is like when you are not sweet smelling to God. When there's no sacrifice and God comes into your presence, he immediately feels, hmm, going to go away. But there are places where you smell. So wow, there's something nice here. Let's go there. Let's go here, let's go here, let's go here. And there are places where even the fact that you've been around before in the church, the toilet, that even the person who caused that scent to be there, he's gone, but the scent remains. It is fantastic. Is it not fantastic? How many want to be an obnoxious smelling person to God? How many want to be a nice smelling? That's why they sell so many perfumes. All husband in the Christian association that we have formed here must buy perfume for your wife. Is it clear? Not from Sainsbury's or Tesco perfume. Asda perfume from Paris with a name that we can all recognize. Yeah, proper one special, not a fake one from Korea or China. Real one. Wrap in wrapping paper with ribbons. If you are a member of the association, how many are members of the Association of Christian Husbands Association? Even if she has, even if she has enough. So it's because of sweet, smelly savour that all these things have come up. Yeah, husband, instead of bathing and come and lie on the bed, you are now lying on the floor. So you won't bath. So you are sleeping on the floor. You are too stubborn. You say you are praying, you say you are praying so you won't come and lie, lie. You don't want to bath. That is the main not that you are praying. Forgive, forgive, shame. All right, all right, all right, all right. Sweet smelling silver 24 The power of the cross is the power to make someone obedient. Hebrews chapter 5, verse eight. Though he were a son, he learned obedience by the things that he suffered. Is the power that is able to make somebody obedient Is the cross Jesus Christ himself? In Hebrews 5 he said that though he was a Son, he learnt obedience. He learnt it by the things that he suffered, which includes the cross. So suffering teaches you obedience, and when you take up this cross to suffer for God, it leads you to a new life of obedience which you have not experienced before. Yes. How many want to be obedient to the Lord, to be pleasing you, pleasing you? This is all I really want to do. To be pleasing you. Pleasing you. This is all I really want to do. Amen. Just to be pleasing you, please. This is all really want to do. Just to be pleasing you, please, this is all I want. To be pleasing, pleasing you, this is. All. I really want to do it's just to be pleasing you. This is all I really wanted to do. He learnt obedience through His cross. Wow. Many of us don't know obedience when we say do something. Many people don't know how great it is to be obedient. I say learn this song. You don't learn it, you learn another song. I don't know how greatly obedience is attractive, how obedience has a drawing effect of favour and promotion to you. Just being obedient makes you greater and makes you more blessed. Most of us don't know suffering reveals obedience and releases the ability of a person to be obedient. That's why God allows us to suffer some of the problems that have come. You want to cast them away. He has no intention of casting it away. You are binding a loop. One day I saw somebody praying. I met someone praying about a problem. Person had had this problem for 12 years and then husband told me. He said for the 12 years that we have been married, I can say that for at least 10 years, every night she stands on her feet to pray about this problem from about midnight to 3:00 AM. For nine years. Look, let me give you a tip. When you pray for something three times and it doesn't go away. There may be something else why it's not going to go away. Why do I say three times? Because when Jesus was in the garden trying to remove that cup from his life, he prayed three times. Prayed. He didn't go, went and prayed, Pray, pray, pray. Didn't go. We went and prayed a third time. Oh God, oh God, let it go, let it go, let it go. It didn't go. Leave it, accept it and lend obedience. Paul had a thorn in his flesh. He said thrice, three times. I sought the Lord for this thing to go away. It didn't go so I said most gratefully. Will I rejoice in my weaknesses? It got up his eyes from God. I embrace it. I take pleasure. He had the cleverness after three times of seeking for the Lord that this thing should change and it doesn't change. I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in distresses for Christ's sake. But when I am weak, then I'm strong. There are many things in your life, but three times you have sought the Lord. So when I saw this, I, I, I sat down with them. I said let me have a meeting with you. For 11 years you have prayed about this thing from the time 12 midnight to 3:00 AM every day. I said let's take a different plan on this case, another plan. Let's accept it and go in another direction. Are you listening, my friend? You must learn obedience because there are some things that are not intended to be removed. Your prayer and somebody's prayer. That's why you sometimes you see some churches, they're going round, round, round, round, round, round. Go here, this one has come. You go and pray. This one give an offering. It will go. This, this, this, this, this. You'll notice most of the time when I take offer, it's not for something to go or some miracle to come. I believe in all those things. They are all biblical things. Look, most things pastors do, they are biblical. Rarely do pastors do unbiblical things. There's always some biblical basis. Oh yeah. And I'm not saying there's anything wrong. I'm just telling you that most of the things, even I can explain to you why they are doing it, even something better than they themselves. But I'm just telling you what I do. And many times when I'm praying and leading you to take an offering, it's not to let something go. Many things will not go. They will not go. You don't like my my preaching. You see, it's like me that I don't preach this. I mean, in 26 days as you give a Psalm 26 offering in 26 days you are going to have things are going to change and all those kind of things, isn't it? It's like me that I don't have faith. One day I was I was talking to her brother. I was telling him, listen, this is the way you should go because this problem you prayed is not changing. And he said to me, it's like it's as if I don't have faith. I'm his past as it was like I don't have faith. Many times I've been in that situation where it's like my test member feels that I don't have faith and I say, look, you know, rather it's rather that I have more faith than you because I believe in God. But you believe in a particular outcome or a particular method, But I believe in God. I believe that God is great. I believe that God has is God is in control of my life. I believe that I believe in a good God. I believe that his power is at work in my life. That's what I believe. And I believe that his power is at work in your life. So I work in my life and it's I work in your life. Believe in God, don't believe in this way. You believe that when I say I have a car, I have a car, I have a car 27 times as you have a car. It's the formula that you believe in, not God. I believe in God, you believe in this formula. That's me. I believe in God. Lord can never be fitted into your formula. Thrice I sought the Lord and he didn't remove it. Therefore, I took pleasure in this whole case. Start to thank God for the case. I said do what? Start to thank God for the case line. Thrice, thrice, 3 times. When I said to you, I don't mean Monday, you prayed about it, Tuesday, prayed about Wednesday. No, Paul said. I shocked the Lord. There's a certain seeking of the Lord in a certain way. Three times because when Christ went to another he played one hour. I mean it was like a real prayer has gone to God three times on three different occasions. Seriously and it's not changing then change to he has become obedient by the things that he suffered that that thing is supposed to suffer. That's all. Stop trying to be God or mini gods. Stop trying to make pastors and prophets into many gods. They are not gods. They have almost no power, oh almost no of their power. Our power is almost zero. We are representatives of the one who has power, which is God. Many pastors are like when you go to Singapore, there is a the symbol of the country is a lion and a mermaid. Yeah, a mermaid and a lion. And from my hotel room on the 60th floor, I could see that is to call it male lion. Yeah. 60th and we were up. That was the highest building in Asia, Southeast Asia. I was up there. When I look out of my glass window, I could see the male lion. The male lion reminds me of many pastors. I watched it every night for the whole week I was there. Water is coming out of its mouth into the sea, and you see big white lion and mermaid combine. It is giving water. I cannot drink it, cannot enter. It is not affected by it, but it's giving water. I cannot drink it. Many passes are like a male lion. You are giving even. You don't have even the power to turn it on yourself, to give yourself even life. That's why Catherine Cuman died of sickness when through help many people were being healed. It's wonderful. Sometimes you can't help somebody, but you can't even help yourself. Like Jesus on the cross. They say save yourself, LA. Save yourself. Do something la. We all believe you. Now come down LA. But it didn't come down. Move, Jesus. You see, you can't do it for yourself. You're just like the lion that you yourself can't drink. It's coming that there's nothing for you. For you is to suffer and to just be stone cold as we give life to people. Messy. Are you understanding what I'm preaching about? You say I don't have faith. I don't have faith. You have faith. OK, Be there. We shall see whose faith You see one day certain brother. Somebody was sick in the school. So they called brother. We should pray for him. And the brother said there were two. He said you pray for him first and then after I will pray for him so that we will see whose prayer will hear him. So the first brother prayed so that he will see, and when he prayed he was not healed. So the second brother will pray and see whether his prayer wait see who has faith Mercy. You say I don't have faith. You have faith. I don't have faith. You have faith because I'm telling you that you, you suffer. I you don't you tell me I don't have faith. If I don't have faith, will I be serving God Math like this frog Frog in a wheelchair? The legs have been taken off of frog legs. The next one, Hebrews chapter 2. The power of the cross is the power to make a person perfect through suffering. Amen. What do you think? For it became Him for whom are all things, and by whom are all things? In bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings make the captain of their Make the captain of their what? The captain of their salvation. Perfect through suffering. So Christ was made perfect through sufferings. Amen. What do you think? Stand up. Hey, you look tired now. You're not tired. Oh, OK, OK. OK. Then. I was looking the wrong direction. Scripture made perfect. Hebrews 210 To make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings, the power of the cross. Now I said it makes you perfect, isn't it? Check Hebrews 10/14 for another powerful verse. It says For by one offering He has perfected forever them that are sanctified by one offering, Hebrews 10/14 one offering of himself, He has perfected things. You are made perfect by one offering. The power to make you Have I given you this point? Power that crosses, the power to make you perfect, perfect, obedient. I gave you obedience. Cross, make obedience, cross, make perfect. The power of the cross is the power to demonstrate great love, power to demonstrate love. Now sometimes love needs to be demonstrated, and it needs to be what demonstrated. What do you think demonstrated? And somehow there's no opportunity to demonstrate it. And the cross provides an opportunity to demonstrate love because the Bible said for God commended his love towards us in the Wilds we were yet Sinner Christ died for us, so he's dying for us, commended his love to us. So when you make a sacrifice, the people get a recommendation, recommendation of your love for them. That is why when I was pastoring a church and I did, the people perceive that I was not going to leave them, that I was going to be with them. It commended a certain love to them that they were important enough that they were loved enough. And so when you take the cross and you come to a place, to a nation, a town, a place that people experience a certain love that is commended to them for the act of sacrificing for them, what do you think? And it's very important for your for love. For God commended his life toward us. He had the love, but he commended it. He had a life. He demonstrated it. The commend means to demonstrate it. He showed it. You show love by sacrifice. When I was carrying those boxes for my friend's house to move them, they saw that I loved them. Do you get it? Yes. Up to today. What do you think? Is it powerful? Wow. So you must show your love, tell somebody, show your love, not through chocolate and kisses, but by sacrifice and crosses. The next one. Wow OK, OK OK good good 27 The power of the cross is the power to prevent men from perishing in the lake of fire, which they deserve to go to is the power to prevent a man from going to perish in the lake of fire. For God so loved the West is John 3/6 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth him, God gave his son. God so loved that he gave his Son. He gave his Son to die on the cross so that people will not go to hell through his sacrifice and through the giving of his, and people did not go to hell. You will not go to hell because of that cross, not because you are good, you know it, that you are not good, but the cross makes it possible for you to go to heaven and you too. When you give your life through that, a lot of people will not go to hell. And that's why when you don't give and do what you're supposed to do, a lot of people will go to hell and you will pay for it. Amen. Now listen, let me tell you that this is probably the greatest effect of the cross. Remember when he was in court, all these important people, that man who was going to Enron, millionaire? Yeah, they were going all going with strength. What is this man, OJ Simpson? Is he in jail now? He got a jail. He got to get out of jail. Yeah. He was arrested for armed robbery. He got out of jail free again. Get out of jail free. Wow. Is it not a powerful thing, Pastor Jerry? You've got to get out of jail. Free card. Get out of jail free. Wow, Pastor Richard, get out of jail free. Free. You know this President Chance Taylor, he needs one of those cards desperately. After enjoying as a president all these years, enjoying the money and join the girls, enjoying everything, he's right in jail. He needs a get out of jail free card and salvation and the cross is the greatest get out of jail free card that has ever been released for any for our crimes. The greatest of all prisons awaits all men and God has shared get out of jail free card to everybody and has given you a pack of cards to go and share to others. And that pack of cards can never be shared unless you also take up a cross and go. When I came to London to start the church, or when we came to London to start the church, we were get out of jail free cards for Quico, get out of jail free cards for Jerry or Chris. He was in a prison and and he was he was he was in a prison and because he had he had he accused him of killing somebody. I don't even know where he was, but he he went, he was going to one of us. So when I went to preach after he calls he a Bishop and I said, what are you doing? What I mean? He's fully a member of the church. He passed everything. He knows something happened and he and I couldn't, I didn't have a get out of jail free card to give to him. If I had had one, I would have given to him, but I didn't have one. But it's not easy to get on this earth. I get out of in Sawam jail free. I get out of Asha Fort, free. I get out of Guantanamo Bay free. Then how much more? Lake of Fire Prison, International Prison, and a power so great to set you free to come out of that jail free is the greatest, greatest, greatest, greatest, greatest effect of the cross to set many people free. Is it not powerful? Are you? Are you glad about this cross? For God so loved the world that he gave his Son to die on a cross, and whosoever should believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Wow, get out of jail free. Huh. Escape free. Do not pay. Huh? Just go. Can you see why I'm a preacher? How many? I understand why? I'll say this is what I'm going to do. This work. You see, I don't know what else I should do. I don't know what else I should do. I want to talk about it all the time. I'm very, very happy that I'm saved. I can't keep it to myself. Come on, I've got to tell somebody. Can you keep it to yourself? I can't keep it to myself. I've got to go out and tell somebody. I can't keep it to myself. Somebody's lost, somebody's dying. I can't keep it to myself. I've got to tell somebody else. Clothic gods to know Jesus loves them. So please don't keep it to yourself. You need to go out, you'll tell somebody. Don't keep it to yourself. Jesus loves them so somebody wants to know that Jesus loves them so somebody needs to know Jesus life slept so. Myself gotta go out and. Tell somebody I can't keep it to myself. Somebody's. God. Somebody's dying. Oh Jesus, I can't keep it to myself. I've got to tell somebody else. Wanting God to go. Jesus loves them, so please don't keep it to yourself. You need to go out and tell somebody. Please don't keep it to yourself. Somebody's lost, somebody's dying. Please don't keep it to yourself. Tell somebody else for the gods to know. Should not perish, not perish in hell and have everlasting life. Wow, this one is my favorite vest is the greatest vest in the Bible. God, the greatest person so loved greatest love the whole world, the greatest number of people that you can ever love, that he gave the greatest gift, that he gave his only son, the greatest person that could ever be given. And he gave his only son that whosoever the widest possible invitation, whosoever believeth. The greatest act that a person can do is to believe, not to to learn or not to be educated, but to believe. And whosoever believeth should not perish the greatest escape, but have everlasting life. The greatest gift that you could ever have is the greatest scripture. What a God, what a Jesus, what love. How can we sit with this love in our little rooms and say I have to arrange my fork and my knife with my families and I? No, no, no, no, no. We cannot live in one life. We got to rise. We got to rise and arise and go do something for our Jesus. Get out of jail free. Amen, Amen. Good, good. OK, Love, the power of the cross is the power that demonstrates the riches of the grace of God. Ephesians 17 You want to demonstrate the grace in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sin. OK, OK, OK. The power of the cross is the power that demonstrates the riches of the grace of God, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin according to the riches of His grace. We have redemption through His blood. You see, I'm just connecting all these things to the blood, the sacrifice, the cross, the death, the suffering that Christ came to experience. And there are 65 different things I'm connecting it to, and this is the 28th, The grace, the blood showed the grace, Amen. And it says in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness according to the riches of his grace. Grace made Him redeem us in this way. The next one is the power of the cross, is the power that enables a pastor, that is released in a pastor, that enables him to love a church, a pastor to love a church. Pastors need to love their churches. If you start to have love for your church, your church will grow. Amen. Are you listening to me? If you have power, if you have love now Ephesians 525 husbands love your wife even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it, Amen. Love for a church is a beautiful thing, Amen? Is it not a beautiful thing? It's a beautiful thing to love the church. And when that love is there, Enid, I said Enid, Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. That's why people come for weddings, celebration of their wedding. They don't come to see marriage. Marriage has a lot of ugliness because there's a lot of ugliness between two flesh. Jealous, selfish, greedy people. But love, Everybody comes to see. So is this something that divorces old people Tired. Or they're all they're all happy to see. We are all happy to see. Oh, so just take your mind is he will take you there if you just believe that nobody gets too much heaven no more, it's much harder to come by. I'm waiting I'm waiting in life.
