About this sermon

*TEXT:* Eph. 4:26-27; Jas 1:19-20; Prov. 14:17 It's possible to live safe forever by Zoe - the life of God in you. Of your own, you could do nothing, but you received the ability to do all things from the moment Christ began to live in you at new birth. Where there was no glory, the Light of God created the glorious life of God in you. Now, there is hope for glory over life and all its affairs: emotional, spiritual, social and economic activities of life. They are given into your hands to control, because Christ lives in you. *DEALING WITH UNHAPPINESS* SADNESS is the absence of joy in a life. It's often occasioned by anger or bitterness that results in induced heaviness of heart. Sadness is an emotional issue that results from prolonged anger. So, if you check anger, you check sadness. Fundamentally, anger is a natural emotion and is not sinful. * It is the landmark for every personality boundary. * It controls the traffik on the subway of your heart. * It indicates the much you can take from external factors and persons. * It distinguishes your personality and defines who you really are. * It is positive by nature. Anger is naturally beautiful and human. But, excess anger is nasty and ballistic. The hastiness in it draws from underlying emotional distortion of personal judgements. The ballistic side of anger is called WRATH or QUICK ANGER and, the protracted state of anger is called BITTERNESS or HEAVINESS OF HEART. *EMOTIONAL CONTROL* Research suggests that emotions have a significant influence over human behavior. Statistically: - *Daniel Kahneman,* a psychologist and economist said emotions influence around 80% of our decisions, often unconsciously. (Source: "Thinking, Fast and Slow") - A study titled "The Role of Emotions in Decision Making", published in the Journal of Economic Psychology found that emotions account for approximately 70% of the factors that drive human decision-making. - Another study titled *"The Emotional Brain and Decision Making"*, published in the journal " *Neuron* " estimated that emotions influence around 60% of our actions, with the remaining 40% driven by rational thinking. Keep in mind that these figures are approximate and can vary depending on individual circumstances, cultural context, and personal characteristics. It's clear, however, that emotions play a substantial role in shaping human behavior, often beneath our conscious awareness. *SCRIPTURAL RESEARCH* Biblical examples prove that men relapse into their greatest mistakes when overtaken by emotional distresses. So, emotions thwart reason, in scripture. *ALLOW THE ANOINTING* The Anointing of God in human flesh is called Christ. It activates your mind and will to rule over your emotions and feelings by divine insights from God's Word. The only way to rule over your emotions and stabilize in life is to be led by the Spirit of God. You have this grace as a believer.
