About this sermon

Sow love and forgiveness and it will come back to you! Kathryn Kuhlman talks about how this principle has worked in her life. This show has helped me to become more like Jesus and I am sure it can do the same for you. The podcast never has any AI and rarely has music or commentary.. I give a short introduction sometimes but Kathryn's talks are unchanged. Take care and God bless.

Well, we've been having some mighty good heart -to -heart talks. I don't care what you call them, whether they're berserk cornbread or... Put any label that you want on them. All I can tell you is that what I've been giving you works because it's from the Word of God. And remember the Scripture. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. We've been talking about the law of life, how to live life, and it fools the man or the woman. Literally, a fool is the person who is not interested in knowing how to live. That's vitally important to all of us. I want to know. If I can live a better life than I'm living today, I want to know. I want someone to tell me. I'm interested in living a better life. The plain fact is that we've been talking about the law of life. And this is what we found out from the highest authority in heaven and earth. That as we think and speak, and act towards others, so will others think and speak and act towards us. Whatever sort of conduct we give, then inevitably, that same conduct is bound to come back to us. Anything, everything that we do to others will sooner or later be done to us by someone, somewhere. It's just like that for every unkind word that you speak to or about another person. Now think of that. After you had the telephone conversation about 45 minutes, I am so amazed sometimes when I go to the telephone and try to get somebody. Ten minutes later, I try again. It's still busy. I try again 20 minutes later. The line is still busy. I say to the operator, would you please, I have an important call. Perhaps the telephone is out of order. It's a business call. Would you please check? She'll come back and say, no, the line is in order. But this conversation, 45 minutes, and they're still talking. And you can be dead sure they're not talking about spiritual things. They're not talking about how good and how precious Mrs. Jones is. You know. Oh, listen. I tell you, my mama was kind of smart. My mama was very smart. I still remember little hand... painted motto that she had over our telephone. It was there. I think it was there before I was born. And after Mama went home to Glory, it was the first time it was ever taken down. And Belle had painted little blue forget -me -nots, a little bunch of them, in the corner. And this is what it said on the little motto. There is so much good. in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us that it hardly behooves any of us to talk about the rest of us. Uh -huh. Now remember, while you are holding that telephone conversation, or maybe the lady next door came over, after about 30 minutes, remember. For every unkind word that you speak to or about another person, an unkind word will be spoken to you or about you. For every time that you cheat, you'll be cheated. For every time that you deceive, you will be deceived. For every lie that you utter, you'll be lied to. Remember that. Mm -hmm. You'll pay in one way or another. That's the word of God. But now today we're going to talk about something else. And I want you to get this because this too is so vitally important. It's a poor law that does not work both ways. And so it's... equally true that for every good deed that you do, for every kind word that you speak, you will in the same way at some time or other get back an equivalent. Think of that now. People often complain about ingratitude on the part of those whom they've helped or upon whom they've conferred favors. And too often, Very often. It's true. Sure. Oh, how often Maggie has said to me, honestly, you keep doing and doing and people are so fickle and do you have to? And I guess a thousand times I've said to Maggie, Well, I'll tell you for every person who is not grateful. Nine are very grateful. And the average is pretty good. Even if out of the ten, one was grateful. That's still a good average. But more than that, it is what it does to me. Oh, my goodness alike. It's not my responsibility as to whether or not they're grateful. How they receive my kindness is not my responsibility. That's theirs. They're going to have to give an account of that. But you see, I'm responsible for my own loving. I'm responsible for my own life. I'm responsible for the deeds that I do in my body. I'm responsible for my love. I have to care. If I didn't care, if I didn't love, if I only gave because of what I expected to receive, I'd be the sorriest person in the whole world. Oh, and it's so simple. If you really want to start living, if you really want to be a happy person, if you want real happiness, you know, start giving. Giving just because you want to give. The giving comes from the inside. And nothing so help me. There is no joy that you as an individual can receive. There's no happiness that is compared to the happiness that you have within you when you start giving of yourself. wouldn't like to have myself. He's kind of like that, and he's just like that. When I give something just to get rid of it, there's not any joy connected with it at all. When I give because I feel it's my duty to give, I find that there's something lacking. There's no happiness connected with it. There's no real joy. There's no excitement. I think you're so excited over getting... Just so excited. Oh, I've been accused of being too generous. Too... How can I best explain it? Well, it's just kind of, you know... They tell me I go overboard on some things. Well... But I have an awful good time going overboard then. I love life. These are the things that keep me going. I would have had a nervous breakdown years and years and years ago had I lived a selfish life. Now, I'm talking about something that's practical. I'm talking about something that works. I'm talking about something that is easy. I'm talking about something that I wish I could put in a capsule and just send out to everybody that I know. I'd give anything in the world if what I'm talking about, I could put in a little pill and send it out to all of you and say, now, take this pill. Swallow this capsule. Every morning, the first thing you do when you're awake in the morning, swallow it. And I'll promise you something. I will promise you, you'll be a happy person. I'll promise you a strength, a vitality, a joy, a peace, an excitement. I'm talking about an exciting life. You know, we've gotten so that we have really forgotten how to live. Most people are just existing. It's like that. They're just existing. You know, life is not built for negative achievement. It's built for positive contribution. For outgoing love. You were made. for love. You were built for love. He who loves not lives not. And he who loves most lives most. We've got so materialistic in our thinking, in our living. We've got the place where everything is a matter of acquiring. Everything has a dollar and cents. Sign on it. It's just... Our minds have become so warped. Our ideas of life are so contrary to God's plan for man. Your life was never made for negative achievement. You and I were made for positive contribution. Outgoing love. You can never get rid of your own troubles unless you take upon yourself the troubles of others. When you find yourself oppressed by melancholy, the best thing in the world to do is to go out and find something kind to do for somebody else. Isn't this just like when I dig a man out of trouble, the hole which is left behind? is the grave where I bury my own troubles. And don't think I don't have troubles. I do. If you think you have troubles, you should face what I have to face every day. Oh, you don't begin to know what it's like. But then you see, when I start helping somebody else, there's something about my own troubles. When I help other people with their worries, something happens to my own worries. When I'm tired and about ready to drop, and I think I'm feeling a little badly, oh my goodness, the best way to get rid of my own feelings and my own hurts and pains is to start praying for somebody else, helping them. I'll give you a practical... illustration. There's never a miracle service, but what I get a greater blessing and I get more strength, more vitality, more healing for my own body than anything that I can do for anyone else in that service. While I'm praying for somebody else, there's something about those prayers, they overflow on me. When I'm helping somebody else spiritually, I find out that there's an overflow and I get the overflow. That's the reason I can leave a miracle service more rested after three and a half, four, four and a half hours than when I walk on that platform. I have given, and in giving of myself, and in giving of my own strength, in giving of me, in giving out of my love, I have received so much more in return. That's been the secret of my growth. That's been the secret of my mental growth. It's been the secret of my spiritual growth. It's been the secret of the growth of Catherine Kuhlman. The real secret, if you want to know, is found in dibbing. You cannot out -dib yourself. You can't do it. Mm -hmm. out each day and do something that nobody but a Christian would do. Every normal man, every normal woman longs keenly for love, for warm friendship, admiration, human love from his fellas. They long for it more than anything else in life. Then start giving those about you. The feeling they long for. Start passing out good cheer. Start passing out brotherly love. We talk so much about brotherly love. We don't know what it's all about. A lot of people are loving just for what they can get out of it for themselves. I'm not talking about that. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about real, honest -to -goodness, brotherly love, and you'll receive in return a personal friendliness, a genuine happiness that you never dreamed possible, which will absolutely revolutionize your whole life, and theirs too. Don't wait for some miracle to be performed on you from without. That's what nine -tenths of the people are waiting for. waiting for some miracle to be performed from without, lifting you above your fears and your doubts and your self -centeredness. You help yourself. You help God from within by turning in outgoing love to others and wrecking it. Your fear, your doubts, your self -centeredness will vanish. The miracle starts from within you. And not from without. Through your will, remember that kingdom. Remember that you are the monarch of a kingdom. You still rule. You still govern that kingdom within you. And you are a kingdom. You have the will. You have the resources. So throw your will on the side of outgoing love, and all the healing resources of the universe will be behind you. But neither God nor man can help you if you remain bottled up in yourself. There you are again, your own worst enemy. You're not made to live that way. And all the medicine that you take, all the pills you take, all the prescriptions that you have filled, all the advice that you can receive, all the counselors, all the psychiatrists, all the praying that you can do, will do you no... good whatsoever unless you throw your will on the side of outgoing love. Get out of your stealth or perish. Mm -hmm. We may discover that we can even love our enemies. Oh, I tell ya. When you can love your enemies. And one of these days, I'm going to talk about that. Oh, that's great. Right or wrong, you say to me. Well, I was right. Okay. Even though you were right. The biggest person in the world is one who can say, I was right, but I will still forgive. And as you forgive, your father, which is in heaven, will forgive you your transgressions.
